Skipped SXSW today to hang out in an empty house all day with my old dance class buddies. We all started at the same time. Five four-year-olds in our little pink leotards and ballet slippers who thought twirling was the best thing on the planet.
Jada's gone on to open her own studio. Lisa got married and is happy taking her four-year-old to classes. Jenny teaches dance and cheer at the high school. Annie also went pro and is on vacation from the Chicago Ballet. We've spent the day drinking wine and giggling at how cute we used to be while also whining about our knees.
At some point I drunkenly tried to teach them the tap sequence to Anything Goes and well ... let's just be glad mom and dad have hardwood and not carpets ... ;)
