Thank you for being there for me when I was elected. Thank you for your guidance and your mentorship. Thank you for teaching me the ins and outs of a world I knew nothing about. Thank you for the way you represented your constituents, and the way you stood up for what you believed in - especially when it was hard. You were a fellow scientist in a world full of lawyers, a champion of science-based policy, and you never let lesser fools tell you what to think.
