Character notes
After reading feedback from Vegawriters and lynncaseymusic, and listening to a bunch of new music (and a little bit of old music as I stormed angrily into work today), I decided I’m not going to make any kind of substitution changes.
Instead, I’m going to expand on Lang’s vocal repertoire/ability. I’m adding Kobra and the Lotus, specifically their Prevail album and a little bit of Ravenscry (in addition to Merethe Solvedt that I’d added earlier this year). I’m talking purely about voice, and not guitar style because some of it can be too...I’m not sure what the appropriate term is, but it doesn’t matter.
It’s about a broader sampling of what would work if she were a flesh-and-blood human.

And this song I’m actually going to add to her EP in lieu of Edge of the World, after Final Destination, so if your character wants to reference it, they’re welcome to. Because I’m pretty sure there are a few here who have had this conversation. This one is perfection.
I think in doing this, she’ll feel better about herself and feel more like she could actually keep up with the Jones’s. Also, then if she decides to quit, it won’t have anything to do with her ability to sing.
