(no subject)
As expected, with a few months of me not responding to my mother's cryptic message her partner emails me. I have never liked this guy. He's always talked trash about Dad, about how wrong he was for driving my mother to do what she did with his mistreatment. Honestly I think he's way more in love with my mother than she is with him. And I think he knows that it's because she never actually stopped loving Dad. So he just worships the woman and makes her think she can do no wrong and defends her against everyone and everything, even when she's clearly in the wrong. Case in point-

Your mother was hoping to hear from you after her last message. She said you would understand what she meant but clearly you didn't. Why else would you ignore her reaching out to tell you she was dying? She doesn't have long, Joran. You need to put your childish complaints aside and give your mother the peace she has been trying to find with you since your father forced her away. She deserves the love and respect of her only son. Your whole life you have unfairly cast her as the villain. Do you have any idea how much she suffered by the words and deeds of your father? In all these years have you bothered to truly try and understand your mother's side of things? She has spent the majority of her life in agony over losing you. Even when you came back to her you never gave her a chance.
I'm asking you to give her that now. Your mother loves you. She needs you before she can say goodbye
And then he linked to one of the poems she wrote about "the end of time". She wrote it years ago about her feelings right before she decided to drive off that bridge. Including it here was just a dick move. Shit, everything about the damn email was a dick move. I need booze.
