I know it was like a week ago now (was it? God, I am awful at remembering dates) but I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that I was able to go to the Golden Globes. Marcus has connections. All of the girls at the agency got to go.
Practically no one knew who I was, but those who did know, holy shit that was some kind of surreal. I had a couple of people come up to me who actually recognized me from some photoshoots I've done. That was... insane. Basically, I just sat back during the whole show and freaked out as quietly as I could every time I thought I saw the side of a famous person's head.
All in all, I don't really think I belonged there. But I was given the ticket and I definitely wasn't going to say no. And I don't regret going for a second.
Oh, here's an obligatory dress picture:
Marcus had it set aside for me before the show. My God, what a beautiful dress. I think I look like a deer in the headlights in this picture because I was seriously trying to figure out if Meryl Streep was about 100 feet from me when this was taken (fyi, she wasn't-- turned out to be a false alarm. damn). But I did run into the always gorgeous Gina Case aka
inthefourthact at the after party :)
Honestly, the opportunities I've been given by moving to LA and taking this job have been nothing short of a fairytale.
