this weakness i feel i must finally show

a/n: a possible sequel of green.  not as...poetic though.  lyrics by mumford&sons (awake my soul), doesn't have to do anything with the story, i just liked them.

how fickle my heart and how woozy my eyes;

taeyeon lets her bike drop onto the evenly cut yard, the long stretch of green that suddenly seem to twist and turn and dip and curve, extend for miles and miles and unconquerable miles long.  her breaths are short and her clothes wet and her knees feel so, so weak, but she's waiting up there.  her princess is waiting up there.

it's like slaying down dragons and running around dank, dripping tunnels and corridors with no lights, just getting up to the room.  the parents are a bit furious that taeyeon's busting through the front door at two in the morning, breathing fire through their noses, and suddenly there is furniture scattered across the foyer and living room that has never been there before since the last time taeyeon visited.  taeyeon clambers up the stairwell and trips many times, bangs up her knees, but it's all right.  her princess is waiting up there.

suddenly, when taeyeon opens the door and finds eunsook sitting in her chair with her beautiful black hair clipped back with a blue butterfly pin and her shoulders hunched over a journal and those black eyes flickering up to her, taeyeon doesn't feel the least bit brave or accomplished.  she's not a knight, but a tamed cowardly lion.  no, taeyeon lets her shoulders sag with a soft sigh, she's still vulnerable under eunsook's eyes.

eunsook smiles brightly, beating the light of her lamp pushed to the back corner of her desk.  "you're so wet," she whispers.  "i'm sorry i called you over."

"nah, i'm usually up at two in the morning anyway."  taeyeon shrugs off her jacket and laughs at the distraught look on the older girl's face and quickly says it's not a problem (for you, nothing ever is).  with a giggle eunsook gets up and rummages through her closet for a spare sweater that's big enough to fit the both of them inside and taeyeon wishes she could and beckons the girl over with a finger.

she mutters, "come here," and helps taeyeon shimmy out of her skin-tight night shirt, laughs when the younger girl quickly covers her bare chest (in her defense, it's not healthy to sleep with a bra on).  taeyeon notices that eunsook's fingers linger longer than they should on the seams of the over-sized sweater she slipped on, notices the heat seeping through the thin pale yellow fibers.  eunsook obviously notices too, with the way her cheeks flare a rosy red and her words tumble incoherently from her lips.

which taeyeon stares at intently, licking her own lips as she steps closer and then kisses eunsook, hands cupping the girl's face with a soft moan.  it's all reciprocated, as eunsook runs her fingers through taeyeon's knotted hair and pushes her towards the bed, falls on top of her.  and taeyeon sighs with a flutter of her lashes while eunsook slips her hands under taeyeon's sweater and pushes up to kiss her pale, wet skin.

how beautiful she must be, taeyeon wonders, with her back arched and chest pressed against hers in a quiet, enveloping bliss.  she dare not open her eyes, lest she freeze and wither completely under her gaze.

"taeyeon-ah," eunsook whines against the girl's lips, finally tugging tugging tugging taeyeon from the heat, the darkness, with a muffled cry.

and taeyeon gives up and watches her princess shudder, breathe, and smile softly, maybe just a tad bit smugly, at her.  taeyeon groans.

"it's just not fair," she mutters as eunsook throws her pretty head back and chuckles at her.  taeyeon smiles too, and then pulls the covers up over the both of them before falling asleep.

when taeyeon wakes up, it's to the soft press of lips against her own; her eyes flutter open to the sight of eunsook, eunsook and her messy pinned black hair, eunsook and her warm smile.

"good morning, my little princess," eunsook coos before stroking her face and shifting closer to the younger girl.

taeyeon lets out a soft sigh, links her fingers with eunsook's.  two princesses trapped in a tall tower up in the sky-taeyeon doesn't mind at all.  she smiles.

"good morning."
