Title: Butterscotch Chip
Rating: PG
Pairing: Bones/Chekov
Summary: Written for rare pair challenge at startrekland. Chekov convinces the doctor to take a break from his work. Fluff
If he thinks long enough, there’s probably a scientific reason, psychological or biological, for why he’s attracted to Pavel. Almost all physical attraction is based on biology, after all, and emotional attraction is unique to everyone, based to their life experience. Though, Leonard McCoy has learned that when you’re in relationships, there’s no point in thinking about the rules, because nobody play by the damned rules when they’re in love anyway.
Seventeen years ago, he can remember, he was busy being in love with Jocelyn. Well, maybe not in love with her in retrospect; he was in love with the chase. But that’s a story for another time, he shakes his head and crosses sickbay to his office, needing to sit down. He hasn’t been off his feet since the beginning of his shift eight hours ago due to an accident in engineering. He’s scanning the progress of the worse patients on his PADD, knowing the door will slide out of his path as he enters.
What doesn’t move out of his way however, is the seventeen year old male waiting for him. His PADD is pressed between them as he runs into Pavel due to his lack of perception. The doctor stumbles back and Pavel laughs, “Doctor, you should watch where you are going.”
McCoy snorts slightly, “You try that when you have patients filled to capacity attempting to bleed out in your sickbay.” His attention turned back to his PADD, he navigates around the desk. He sighs with the comfort of collapsing in his chair, but continues to work, ignoring the younger male.
“Doctor.” McCoy didn’t respond. Pavel was always welcome there, but he was damn busy. There was a silence, then “Leonard?”
“Kid, you know I don’t--”
“Leonard you should not work so hard. Stress isn’t good for you.” Pavel sat on the desk facing McCoy comfortably. The doctor put down his PADD on the desk off to the side.
“Wish I didn’t have to.” McCOy looked him in the eyes and Chekov smiled for reassurance,
“I brought you something if you will take a break with me.” The younger offered. McCoy mulled it over, and perhaps ten minutes… ten minutes for Pavel, would be alright. He stood and moved to stand close to the teen, between his spread legs,
“Brought me something? Better than you?” He raised an eyebrow and he rested his hands on the other’s small waist. Pavel leaned forward, and the doctor leaned forward too, expecting a kiss, but the other quickly navigated to the side and opened the desk drawer, retrieving a small clear bag with cookies inside.
“Mama sent these and said to make sure I share. They are chocolate butterscotch chip.” He places a kiss on the other’s jaw, “And do not tell me you don’t want them.” After Moment the doctor places a warm kiss on the younger’s lips.
“Okay, I won’t.”
