When I took iPod in to the vet yesterday to have his latest vaccination, the receptionist told me that earlier that morning a man had come in and claimed the dog I found wandering along the highway on Friday. I was relieved to hear this. That dog was a nice one. Apparently it had followed this guy's ute when he had left for work. Guess where he lives? About twenty-six kilometers from where I picked up his dog? It really was lost!
A friend of Mum's has lent me a copy of
Lucky Man, the memoirs of Michael J. Fox. It looks interesting. I've always admired MJF. But I can't read it for a while. I'm re-reading the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy series and also have another
Discworld books to read after that.
And, I still have to read and learn the script for Life After George.
Been reading over lots of stuff on the web and in magazines about Apple's switch from IBM to Intel processors. Not sure what I think of it yet. We'll see in 2007, I guess. Australian Macworld did a good coverage of the switch.
Tinkered about under the bonnet of Tiger this arvo. Nothing drastic; just removed a few processes that were irking me and stole back a little more memory. I must say I don't particularly like Dashboard. Each widget steals a fair chunk of memory and, since I don't have broadband, there's no point in using the most of the widgets that came with Tiger. The iTunes widget and Dictionary/Thesaurus are the only two I use. Somewhere, a few days ago, I read about an app that can disable Dashboard. Think I might look into that; I can always re-enable it at a later stage.
Edit: 10:40pm
I love this girl to pieces. Isn't she gorgeous?
