For the first time in, oh I don't know, too long, I got to sleep in my bed in my room in my house. And it felt great. There's nothing more comforting than being back in your own house and bedroom after being away from it for four months. Seeing my desk, my bookshelves (my books), my wardrobe made me feel so relaxed and comfortable. As nice as staying with Mum and Dad has been, it was nicer being back in my own place again last night. Pity it was just last night. I'm getting my stitches out tomorrow so I had to travel back to Mum and Dad's. Ah well.
I went into work today and felt like a celebrity. People were rushing up to me asking how I was, telling me how great it was to see me etc. etc. I asked if they thought there would likely be any work available for me and they all enthusiastically said yes, definitely. They've been under staffed for ages as it is and as of Monday week one of the guys is going on long service leave for three months so they'll be even more under-staffed. I spoke to Jim and he said yes, there probably would be work for me but he has to run it past head office before he can officially put me back on. Should know what's going on by about Friday. (BTW, I work in a household electrical appliance store for those of you who don't know).
People have been taking the news that I'm joining the police with general good grace. I've got the full support of both my sisters which is great. Mum and Dad were a little harder to win over. I involved them extensively in the decision makeing process and they're grateful for that. Now that I've made my decision they say they'll support me no matter what, their own feelings aside. Cool, huh?
I upgraded my mobile yesterday. I am the proud new owner of a
Motorola Razr V3. Its a mighty cool phone. And I can syncronise it with my computer, something my stinkin' Nokia wouldn't let me do. I'm going to buy a USB Bluetooth module so I can transfer photos/mp3s to and from the phone. Big thanks to
fallingwater for recommendation and tech advice ;-)
*laughs* Had a run in with
stalker Robert while I was at Uni deferring my course this morning. Very funny stuff. I flat out lied to him and he believed it. Had him quivering in his over-sized albino stalker boots. I'll tell you about it tomorrow. Funny, funny stuff.
But, until then, I'm off to do... um... something... Okay, probably nothing.
