There was really no other choice. Spike had to do this; he had a responsibility to protect Dawn (which didn’t apply here) and to help her when there were things she couldn’t do on her own.
The wait was unpleasant. Dawn and four of her friends giggled and squealed and decorated each other’s arms with Sharpies. Hell, at least they’d thought to bring something they could use to pass the time sitting down in the hallway of an exceptionally crowded movie theater.
If Spike thought that part was a challenge, actually sitting through “Breaking Dawn - Part Two” was almost unbearable.
