Willow was so happy, having seemed to get a chance to redeem herself to Tara. After so long barely speaking to or seeing each other, here they were, standing upstairs in the bedroom having a nice conversation; even sharing laughter that had once been lost to Willow for what she thought was forever.
When it happened, she looked at Tara with curiosity, wondering why she’d stopped speaking right in the middle of a sentence. Her smile disappeared, and it was only then that she registered the sound she’d heard from outside, and watched the dark stain spread over Tara’s top.
