Blame it on being raised on a Hellmouth. Or perhaps, and more accurately, on the fact that Dawn had made friends among the supernatural since her early teens. But the fact was that she loved details that other found bizarre at best and repulsing at worst.
"You've got to be kidding!" Spike laughed. "Demon scribblings are cool now?"
"Impressive. I said Jhag culture is impressive. Not only do they write their own books-"
"In their enemies' blood."
"With ink," Dawn corrected. "But their prose is surprisingly lyrical."
Spike's expression darkened. "So they know how to rhyme," he scoffed. "Big deal."
