Faith's naughty dreams are momentarily interrupted in
The clang of metal against metal stirred Faith from her dreams. She walked to her window, opened it, and grimaced as the golden rays of morning washed her face. Blocking off the sun, she looked again and smiled at Buffy's yard full of young women training. She didn't like waking up early, but she wouldn't mind getting sweaty with some of those girls.
Her clock caught her attention. "Fuck that." She dove back into bed. She wasn't getting up this early for anybody. Let the girls be sweaty; she'd have them sweat in a whole different way in her dreams.

Metal striking metal echoed through Buffy's dreams. She turned over with a smile, relishing the feel of Angel's arms around her as they trained together, but then instead of holding her sword against his, she was holding it as it pierced his heart. Her mouth opened in a silent scream that was real in her dream, and she sat up, her heart pounding.
She looked to her open window. The sun was just beginning to rise. She should try to sleep more, to get some rest before another day of school and slaying started, but it wasn't going to happen. She couldn't dream any more; all she could do was nightmare.
Shaking, she slipped from her bed, wondering if any one could ever really know how she felt. What she didn't know was that three others across town were also waking, the same thought weighing heavily on all their minds: Would anything ever be normal again?
She thought of calling one of them but wanted to let them rest. So it was that each of them, Buffy staring through her window, Willow downing her milk, Giles stirring his tea, and Xander gazing across his lawn, greeted the dawn alone again.
