It always showed up at the most inopportune times. Angelus would be in the middle of outrunning an angry mob, or cursing the name Holtz and everyone connected to it, and then bubbling up to the surface would come "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you."
He didn’t know why, after so many years with no soul, he’d never lost those bits of Scripture he’d been raised with. There was no place for doing good now.
