Oh, I love this little detail. Of course children's games will incorporate all those things that the grownups ignore. Beautiful.

This is really great. I adore the bit about child rhymes as warnings. Aren't they all?

Naturally the kids are so much more clued in than the grownups of Sunnydale!

I have a fic with this as an element. It might someday see the light of day, but this is so much more concisce.

I think kids tend to regard whatever they've grown up with as normal. So they'd be less invested in pretending the things that go bump in the night aren't there.
