He watched his love sleeping beside him.
She had given so much to the world since she became the Slayer.
She had sacrificed herself to save the world once before.
Now he promised himself, she wouldn’t do it again.
No, she would go on living.
He hadn‘t prayed since he was turned.
Now he made a deal with whoever might be listening.
He would wear that gaudy piece of jewelry.
If someone must die this day, let it be him and not her.
