Nice! I thought how Angel signing away the shanshu would be perfect for this prompt.

die trying to make the world a tiny bit safer really fits Angel. I'd add that he'll further damn himself because he feels redemption is too far out of his reach.

Angel's willingness to sacrifice his humanity - all he's ever wanted - for the greater good seems more poignant now, considering all he's sacrificed for others. Perhaps Angel's real curse to be forever unhappy.

I think that's his real curse also. Time and time again to watch happiness slip through his fingers.
