Buffy stumbled and fell to the ground. She groped around for her stake frantically.
"You're going to die, slayer."
Buffy looked up at the vampire with fear. What was she thinking? She would never be as good as him. She clinched her eyes shut and prepared to die.
"It's okay. You'll get one next time." Jonathan dusted off his hands and reached down for Buffy.
Buffy smiled at Jonathan as she took his hand. "Thanks, Jonathan. Maybe one day I can be an expert like you."
Jonathan touched a finger to Buffy's nose. "Just keep trying, Kiddo. You'll get there."
