Click. The handcuff closed around his wrist. Ripper, for it certainly was not Giles in control here, watched Buffy loop the remaining handcuff around a pipe, securing Ethan against the wall. Stepping back, she smiled defiantly at the Chaos Mage. Ripper knew the cuffs wouldn’t hold Ethan for long.
Buffy moved towards the door. They had babies to rescue and they needed to move fast. Joyce cocked her head to one side, looking speculatively between Ripper and Ethan. She raised an eyebrow in Ripper’s direction. In answer to Ripper’s nod, Joyce dropped the handcuff’s key at Ethan’s feet and winked.
