Well, I've finally gotten all my
pictures sorted out from my travels. There are a lot of them. I've determined that I've taken over 3000 photos since November, not all of which are posted on that site (which will hereafter be referenced at the bottom of the page).
The guy from the bookstore at Chautauqua never called me back after my interview, which kinda sucks, except for the fact that I've been hired to a better job. It would appear that they're getting ready to open a French-style café/patisserie in Mayville, and that one of my high school friends' mom is the manager in charge of hiring... Granted, one shouldn't expect a lot of great things from Mayville, where "cultured" means "has the most finely detailed lawn gnomes", but even if it's an abject failure in terms of representation of a real French café, it'll still be a big improvement on the neighborhood. Best of all, it pays better and I will go to work sooner than I would have at the Chautauqua Bookstore.
In the meantime, I'm trying to figure out what to talk about to a few high school French classes, as I've been volunteered apart from my knowledge as a guest speaker at my old high school. I don't know the new teacher (the first replacement for the late, great Mrs. Lincoln has himself been dubbed a "year-long guest speaker", but I still find him noteworthy if only because he's the great-grandson of former Haitian president Antoine Simon, or so he maintains), but from what I hear, she's good. Unfortunately, she doesn't have any idea about what she wants me to talk about. If anyone has any suggestions for topics to discuss, I'd appreciate suggestions.
