Why are people so flaky?
I was supposed to have five demos so far this week. So far I've had one, and only one of the two more I should have had will go off, unless it gets called off in the next hour. As recently as 1:30 I thought I was going to have two today, but as I was on my way to my 2:00 appointment, I pulled over into a parking lot to answer my phone and found that they had cancelled, literally at the last possible minute. Better than getting there and find them not there after all the rearranging of schedules it took to get them there in the first place, but still... this just seems like someone's idea of a sick joke. I've got an hour to get ready for my next demo now. If something happens to this appointment in the intervening time, I'm going to deliver the machine down somebody's throat.
I think it was Sartre who observed that three in the afternoon is either too early or too late for anything you want to do.
