and it went and got westernized? HARDCORE. People speak English. Signs are in English. It looks like Chicago, you can buy more fashion than Vancouver. There are 6 subway lines. In 2007 there were 2!
Seriously. It's insane. It went from being difficult to navigate and scary to easy? I would send my relatives here on vacation. It's pretty, reasonably clean, safe as hell because the PLA is everywhere. EVERYWHERE.
The subway is navigable. Taxis speak English. It looks more American than Korea. It's WEIRD. Where's my super strange China? Am I that different? (okay, I'm a little different, but China is crazy different.) Even the toilets have changed. The toilets! They're all western. It's easy to pee. WTF. It's not even challenging.
they have Beer and Cheese. BEER. Delicious, dark beer with flavor.
Also, I have the WORST COLD EVER and all I want to do is sneeze, cry (to keep my head from exploding) and sleep. Unfortunately, I'm in Beijing, so that would be a waste of time, but still. WTF.
