If love is blind, can hatred see?

A random thought for all of you to ponder on... :) It came to mind as I was thinking that the real view of a person should not be to either extreme.

I don't know about all of you, but when I first meet a person I often want to put them into either catagory: good or bad. However, when we first meet an individual we should neither assume that their perfect, nor assume that they're perfectly horrible.

Yes, we've all fallen and we're all sinful, but there is good in everyone if you only look for it, and there's sin in everyone if you look for it also. So I guess that leaves us with the last question, where is the balance?

I John 3:23 says:

"This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us. (NASB)"

The balance I suppose, is love. Not the kind that mists your eyes and makes your knees wobble, but the kind that rolls up it's sleeves and enters the other's life: ready and willing to care, help, pray, and encourage them.

*wrinkles nose* That's the difficulty of love - it takes work.
