I know Ray at OSM from Interplay (we meet there 3rd Mondays, and he participates and wants to get students to come, too). He is wonderful! I can see why this was a Really Like.

Your writeup of the other Really Like sounded like a better fit for you program-wise, though it has serious logistical drawbacks, too. Tough choice! But fun dilemma to have, if one must have a dilemma! :)

I believe my key objective will be to live in a walkable/bikeable community I really enjoy. For farther away things I can get over to family or to school on a short-commute basis, ideally bike or public transport but a car will do in a pinch too. I do want to be near friends, good groceries, and activities (library, for example). That may be close-in East side Portland, or SW Barbur area, or Beaverton... I'm really not sure.

Really like the sound of that last one. Isn't that fairly close to the MAX? Could open up your living opportunities if you could use that transit option.

I knew you'd be excited for me about the last one. It's probably my favorite too.

UWS is at 2900 NE 132nd Avenue. It's maybe 1.5 miles N of Burnside Ave so that's a quick bike ride from there. Closest bus is #77 (Montgomery Park to Lovejoy, Broadway, Halsey to Troutdale) on NE Halsey about 0.7 miles away, or the #71 (goes down 122nd).

So, I'm thinking the area around Lloyd district could be interesting for renting. I have friends willing to rent me a room in Gresham I can check out... but Gresham may as well be Mars.

Also some acquaintances went there for both Massage and Chiropractic degrees... trying to link up with them to discuss.

Hey James, what fun to check out local massage schools. I went to OSM, but that when it was in Sellwood. Ray is still there and is great. Good teachers, and they have the 'heart' of massage.
Many of the others have come on board to make money, fill spas, and are run like a business....Ashmead, Anthem, Pioneer.
I have friends to went to East-West and had good experiences, and good teachers.
Western States has a great reputation, and lots of other things going for it.
