The system is closer to the US system, where they give you a letter grade but no percentage, and then your GPA (4-point scale) is calculated based on that. Your letter grade can mean anything, scaled or not. So uh.... my grades...were.... not TOO bad. But obviously no 4.0 average. I just have to gloat though, on one. I think I got the highest mark in my Chinese class!! Yay!! OK, done. I just hope it'll count on my UBC transcript. *resolving to study more in second term*
In other news, I'm going to Shanghai for Chinese Near Year! I'll be staying for 11 days at my grandparents. Ohhh... authentic Shanghai-nese home cooking... I drool at the thought! Also, the shopping there is way cheaper, so I'll try to have some things made, like a suit and a coat.
All things are more or less in order. The friend issue is fine, no strange effects. The prank caller never called back. In the process of meeting exchange students for the second term. There seems to be many more men, esp white guys.
The weather in HK is quite dry lately, my face feels tight and hurts sometimes. However, once the humidity kicks in, I won't even need moisturizer! What a strange little corner of the world (heehee). It's slowly warming up, so I am enjoying the warm sunny days, which is nicer than spring in Vancouver.
I really like songs with tension-resolution chords in them, it makes it so much more interesting, and then resolves so prettily and satisfactorily. Plus, it gives me chills up and down my back to listen to it.
I think I'll be happier this term. I'm not so sad all the time, and I feel better about all the little things in HK. Maybe it's around this time that I'll appreciate choosing to be a year student instead of a term student, where I'm used to everything now, so I can finally start to enjoy it instead of just adapting.
I started to gather some things into one of my suitcases to take to Shanghai, so that my grandparents can take it back to Vancouver for me. That way, I'll have more room in my limited luggages for stuff that's accumulated here. So I decided that my photo albums weren't CRITICALLY needed, nor my textbooks from last term, or some other stuff... well, it almost filled up the whole damn suitcase! And I haven't even packed anything for my trip! Uh-oh... have I accumulated too much stuff? (one guess) =P
That's all for now, gathering all my random thoughts together.
