The beginning of the end

It's my last night here in Beijing. Tomorrow, I'll get on the plane and head for my final destination, Hong Kong (well, second final... Vancouver's final, I suppose), where I will spend 2.5 days eating, shopping, resting, and visiting. I feel a little sad... I've been especially looking forward to this leg of the trip, but also knowing full well that its arrival would mean the emminent end of a wonderful two weeks. Surprisingly, I haven't felt as tired as I'd expected, having been on the move every day since arriving in Tokyo almost two weeks ago. There's been something new, something busy, something crazy almost every day, and I'm sure HK will be no exception. I'll be busy, there'll be new and old things to see, and it'll be crazy humid, I'm sure.

I can't wait to go back to my old university and revisit all those old haunts... MMW, mosquito pond, the main campus library with its graduation-impeding statue, CC and its no-face ghost girl... hahahaha! I think I really did meet a ghost one day...

But then it'll be it, and it'll be another long flight to home. It's been nothing but hellos and goodbyes this entire trip, and every time, it's rather bittersweet. I hate saying goodbye, and having to do that every couple of days is seriously unnerving. I'm terribly afraid that my goodbye tonight will be one of my last... my grandparents are getting on in years and their health is no longer what it used to be.

But meanwhile, I will look forward to the trip ahead, and to renewing friendship and creating new memories with old friends. See you all soon!
