Random? Yeah...

This is definitely a random sort of entry, but oh well. Lately, I've been using my tarot deck a lot. Don't know why, since it usually likes to mock me to my face, or mislead me on purpose (its an evil deck, I swear), however I've been interested in doing a few readings every so often.

Now, when I do tarot readings for myself, I usually end up with a lot of minor arcana. In a tarot deck there are major and minor cards. The major cards are like "The Universe" and "The Fool," your standard tarot. The minor arcana come in suits, like a regular card deck (mine has swords, spears, cups and shields). Normally when I do a reading for myself I get all minor arcana, and they're usually all upside down (which changes the meaning, or can mean that you're internalizing your thoughts). So it's weird for me usually to even get *one* major arcana. Today I asked for four things that will be in my near future. and these are the readings I got:

The Moon (reverse): Deception, lies. Bad judgment. Repressed issues surfacing in bad physical and mental health. Suppressing your intuition. A minor deception is realized before major damage is done. Emotional instability.

The Sun (reverse): Danger of burn-out. Beware of pride. Unhappiness. Loneliness. Possible broken engagement or marriage. Canceled plans. Clouded future. Lack of friendship. Confusion and suspicion prevent you from enjoying what life has to offer. Entertaining fantasies of success that have no basis in reality.

The Priestess (reverse): Superstitious, deluded. Dormant talents and wisdom. A waste or misuse of skills and knowledge. A negative influence affecting emotional stability and impairing judgment. Being deceived by a superficial show of knowledge. Ignorance and unwillingness to consider the advice of others. Lack of understanding. Shallowness and conceit. Emotional instability.

Death: Most often is symbolizes a powerful, being turned inside-out change in the seeker's life, which cannot be controlled or curbed - a transformation. It is death followed by rebirth. It is an ending to something in the seeker's life that will initiate great change. It is clearing away negative conditions for new and better situations. This change is not optional but something required and unchangeable.

Death can also be a reminder to "get down to business" and to focus on what is important in your life.

--------

You can understand why I was like "holy shit" when I pulled them out, because they were all major cards. And I've been dying for change. There are two cards I hope I'll always pull out, and that's The Lovers and Death. Let's just hope my cards aren't being mean to me.
