Gonna make my own lip balm.

I've had it with store bought lip balms and have read that they're actually habit forming and not particularly good for your lips. I read that coconut oil is better... however at the temperature our house is kept at, coconut oil has the texture of a candle. Can't exactly put it on my lips easily. I actually already talked about this back in this post in December.

Anyway, I made a mixture of coconut oil and olive oil that is perhaps a little too soft at room temperature, and turns to liquid when I put it on my lips, and then about 2 minutes later I can't even tell that I've put it on, it's all dry again.

So I've been reading up on homemade lip balm recipes and figured out that I want to make one that is coconut oil, cocoa butter, beeswax, and olive oil. I found a recipe with the ratios and everything, and I ordered all the supplies, including the little pots and tubes to put it in when I'm done making it. This should be an adventure.

Last night at gaming my lips were very, very chapped, and my upper lip cracked. It always cracks in the same place--has all my life. Anyway, it started to bleed, and I had to blot it with a napkin every minute or so for like an HOUR. It never stopped bleeding. I'm sure everyone thought it was gross but I couldn't help it. My lips just get SO chapped, especially in the winter. They frequently bleed and they always hurt in multiple places. And they look all blotchy and red. Maybe this homemade lip balm will help. It surely can't be worse than what I'm doing right now.
