So yesterday I went back to work. The ride there in the car was rough, so I took one of my Percocets when I got there. That made me a little groggy, which was annoying. I offset that with lots and lots of coffee. I worked on payroll most of the day but then the Percocet started wearing off and even though I was sitting on a pillow it was really starting to hurt. I couldn't take another Percocet because I had to drive home, so I decided to leave early.
Normally I work Mon-Tues-Wed but I decided to give myself some more time to heal before coming back in. Ideally I'd have come in on Thurs & Fri, but I have a doctor's appointment on Thursday so I had to make it Wed & Fri.
The drive home was miserable. I was in so much pain I almost cried by the time I got home. When I finally got home I took two Percocets and went to bed for a couple of hours. Nightmare over. I am home today and doing ok. I hope by tomorrow things are enough better that the car ride isn't so miserable.
One good thing was that last night I was able to take a shower for the first time since surgery. It felt great to wash my hair and get clean in general. I'm still not supposed to take baths, so my bedtime ritual is still out the window, but being able to shower is a pretty major positive step in recovery. Sponge baths were getting old.
