I want my Pops!

What the hey? We get DirecTV and part of that is a bunch of stations up in the 800-range that are XM Satellite Radio channels. One of my favorites is XM Pops (#866). I enjoy really good classical music but get bored with the mediocre stuff, so I like this station better than the other classical one, because it plays basically the stuff that has endured as "the best" and not like some symphony some no-name composed in 1953. Not that that might not be good, mind you, but I prefer the stuff that's been proven by the test of time. Plus the stuff I just happen to like. You know.

So anyway, long story short, XM Pops is the default background noise of our house, when there is a default background noise. I went to turn it on today and found that it was gone! In its place was "XM Classical Christmas". :O The horror!

Actually it's not all that bad. I like stuff like Greensleeves and the Nutcracker (both of which I've heard tonight)... but these shrilly sopranos warbling out operatic renditions of holiday tunes? Gag me. Hopefully these will be in the minority (though I've already heard several).
