Feelin good

So I am back home from my knee surgery, and I think it went pretty well. I was only in surgery for 40 minutes, so it sounded like a pretty clean cut thing.

We arrived at the hospital at 7:30, signed in, and then waited around a bit. They had a little movie theater that you could watch, and it was a very relaxing atmosphere. There was a waterfall, trees and plants all over. It looked very nice in the waiting room.

They called us in, and then it quickly turned into a regular hospital scene. They took my weight and blood pressure and everything, and then I had to change in the gown and wait on the bed. The lady hooked up my IV, and while I was talking to the anesthesiologist, the fire alarm went off! ha ha. For all of that time spent trying to relax me in the waiting room out front, this alarm is going off. Everyone was just saying that it was a test, no need to worry. Doctor's are asking "can we get that shut off?"

Then I was carried off to another room, and they started putting the anesthetic in, and I can't remember really anything else. I think I faintly remember them putting the nerve block in my leg, because I remember the individual muscles in my leg twitching for some reason.

Then I woke up, and had some stuff to eat, and fell in and out of sleep for a little while. Then after about an hour I got dressed again, and was wheeled out the door.

So today I am supposed to change the wrap on my knee, which will be interesting to see. I can walk around on crutches pretty well. It's hard to say how fast this knee will heal, but I need to remember to take it easy the WHOLE summer, and not be tempted to run around or risk injuring it. And I also need to keep up on the physical therapy stuff. But everything seems fine right now.

Brian is also recording some pretty good songs right now that are up on the Myspace pages of "Musical Foxes" and "Boss Music". So maybe sometime this summer we will get a chance to play for an audience. We probably already have a good list of songs, its just a matter of practicing them all together.
