Ruby is back!

May 31, 2007 15:27

Well, I picked Ruby up from the airport on Sunday. She told me on the phone that her flight number was 320, and that she would be arriving at 3:01. So Sunday I go to look at the flights online, and I can't find any 320 flight. There is a 260 flight coming in at 3:13 though, so i assume it must be that one. I get the the airport at about 2:40, eat a cinnamon bun ( i can't think of how to spell cinnamon..), and wait around a bit. I thought that there was only one 'arrivals' gate, that being gate B. So I wait there, and no Ruby at 3:05. So I figure it must be the 3:13 time that she is coming back. I go to the arcade and play two games of "Pirates of the Carribean" pinball. ha ha. There was a guy playing when I got there, so it took a little while. I come back at 3:10 and wait by the B gate again. So I'm waiting for about 5 minutes, and then I see Ruby walking towards me from the other side of the room! AGHH, I knew I had messed up! Ha ha. Her flight was the 3:13, but it came early, and they arrived at the A gate instead. So I told her right away that I was probably playing pinball when she arrived, and she thought it was funny.

Ruby brought me an african cowbell type thing, a ghanain shirt, and a little thumb piano. She had lots of interesting fabrics from Ghana. She also brought back two drums which sounded and look really nice.

Later on we had dinner with Teresa and Graham, which was really nice. Very good food.

I need to get a bigger mattress. It wasn't so bad when I had the twin mattress on the ground and we would sleep, but now its on the box spring and I can hardly sleep. My pillow kept falling off the bed, and there is hardly any room. I woke up like four times Sunday night. So I am going to mattress shop soon for something bigger. It will probably go on the floor, too, but there is hardly any space in my room as it is. So it will be tricky. But its definitely needed. I hardly fit on it alone, let alone two people.

Drove Ruby back to her parents house Monday, slept over, and drove back home Tuesday. Car started smoking out the back for the last 15 minutes. I was glad to make it home. Soon after my dad called to say the jeep probably needs an oil change, which I confirmed. So now the car is in the shop. No problems, I still have my bike anyway.

Construction being done on the house. We are furnishing the last room in the basement. This July our friend Johnny is moving in, so then there will be six guys in the house. I will probably move downstairs, and Johnny will have Brian's room. It would be nice if Johnny stayed for a while. Also, insulation is being put on the outside walls of the house, so that should help a lot, seeing as how the walls are made of concrete.

Going to the cottages next week. Get to see Katy, and probably visit Ruby again. It will be nice to have my first week of paid vacationing. ha ha. Never had that before.

Hmm... I look forward to going to the farmer's market Friday. I need to get some more pastries from the Bulgarian Pastries lady. So good! I bought a cherry strudel thing from her that I couldn't stop eating. ha ha.

I started sponsoring a little girl through Children International today. Her name is Margaret, and she is from Zambia. It will be interesting getting letters from her and such. Its always fun to read Brian's letters from Michael B. Lorico. ha ha.
