No hesitating whatsoever. That had been his orders when he had been sent on this mission. The next words had made Usopp's chin hit the floor. He had been out the next second, and he still didn't know how he had managed to make it all the way to the bad guy's secret cave with his knees dancing like Justin Timberlake on LSD.
You need to save the world. The world was in deep trouble and apparently, Usopp had been the one fitting to save it. Why, he had no idea but he guessed someone higher up was quite amused by this. He looked everywhere and was about to fall n the ground in a pool of nervous goo when he found the bright display of the bomb.
You only have four minutes. Time was waiting for no one, that was a stated fact. And it most certainly didn't wait for Usopp as he looked desperately at the time triggered bomb, counting down. It was less than four minutes now. He opened the lid and a world of colored cables appeared in front of him. Now, which one to cut?
There's a chance you'll die. Okay, that hadn't been the thing Usopp had wanted to hear. But then again, he got to play the hero. And not only play. He actually got to be the hero. If he were to die today, he would have done what he wanted to do. No regrets and all that jazz. Armed with a cutting pliers, he grabbed a cable by chance and cut it, boldly. Then he grabbed another one and cut that one as well. So far, so good.
Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock. The clock was still counting down, but slower. A second didn't take a second anymore. So he cut another blue wire. Then suddenly, the clock went crazy. As if the numbers were falling down a hole the seconds disappeared and soon a minute followed them. The ticking noise echoed in Usopp's brain and the poor, brave man was close to tears.
Are you ready to go? His hand shook as he searched for the right cable to cut. The last minute was gone and only seconds remained. How did movie heroes manage this? They only had two wires to pick between; he had at least twenty, and they weren't even divided into red ones and blue ones. Gritting his teeth, he closed his eyes and screamed as he cut one cable at random. A small poof was heard and then the display went dead. Mission accomplished.
“Bwaaah!” Usopp breathed and threw away his Play Station console. He rubbed his eyes; sore after staring at the TV screen all night. He had finally made it, saved the world and all that. They really made hard games nowadays, that was for sure.
