[she wakes slowly out of her dream, struggling to come back to reality and only gradually coming to separate the dream from waking. when she finally does come to, however, she quickly lets go of him despite the huge wave of relief one has at realising bad things in a dream haven't really happened at all.]
[even after so much time she's not used to talking about stuff like this, choosing to just keep it to herself, but there's a part of her that suddenly wants to open up about it like she does when it storms. so even though it feels stupid in some ways-]
It was because of the flood, I think. As though it had gone on so long, and we'd never found safe ground.
There were a lot of people around us, and they had to have been dead. [her voice and face are calm, though she's looking down, staying close] We were floating, too... There was a boat looking for anyone who might still be alive, but they couldn't see us. I tried to yell, but I could barely speak, and I tried to tell you to get up, but you weren't moving.
And the people on the boat found me to save me, but they had to leave you behind because I think you were already...
because at that moment, a little bit before the end of her dream, he suddenly woke up with arms held tight around him.

When I wake up, I know it's fine, and you were here to reassure that. These dreams are just getting a little irritating, I guess.
