Major's Creek Folk Festival

Wow, I needed that.

The laughter and tears, the wonderfully rich and varied music, the odd little market stalls. I loved the singing sessions, the new discoveries, the hustling between venues so as not to miss beautiful performers I've loved in the past.

The mist descended on Saturday night (as traditionally it must) heightening the sense I always have at music festivals that I am participating in something otherworldly (though at the same time entirely ordinary). Wood smoke blending with mist, blending with song, blending with laughter - I can't imagine not loving this particular festival, small and low key though it is.

The fire-dancing was wonderful... my love to the beautiful Whispies for sneaking me in for free and sharing their weekend with me.
