Koki’s part
Koki just wanted to smack his head for saying all the unnecessary things but somehow he actually managed to say what he wanted, cause he waned to be friend with Yuichi but he didn’t know how. He was looking down at the ground and got a bit scared when Yuichi didn’t say anything he looked up and smiled at him and hoped that Yuichi would see through him and see that Koki meant what he said. But he probably didn’t, cause all he did was looking at Koki. Koki started to think that there was no hope, he has once again lost a chance to get a new friend, but then Yuichi suddenly spoke.
“I know how you mean. I think everyone want to be themselves in times like this, but something is holding you back and you can’t even talk cause you’re to scared to say wrong or do wrong and then you don’t fit in anymore.”
Koki looked at Yuichi, and thought that this guy maybe actually understood. However, maybe he wasn’t such a bad guy after all. Maybe all Yuichi needed to do was to relax. Koki thought of Junno’s idea of making Yuichi drunk and bring the bad side of Yuichi, but Koki didn’t want to bring the bad side but just a little alcohol and maybe Yuichi could be himself a bit and relax for a while.
“Hm… I feel like that sometimes” Koki said and Yuichi looked a bit surprised. Koki continued, “I feel sometimes that I don’t fit in and it was kind of that feeling I had when I was going to meet you and Ueda tonight. I was scared that you were not going to like me or think I was weird, but I think it’s going to be fun to know you and Ueda.” Koki was surprised over himself. He never used to bee this open to people he only met two times but in some way, he felt a bit calm and secure with Yuichi especially when he knew that Yuichi understood him, at least a little.
“It’s going to bee nice to get to know you and Junno too” Yuichi replied.
Koki was sure that Yuichi was a great guy and he was going to get that guy to come out and not hide in a shelf. “Yes” he thought aloud, maybe too loud.
“Did you say something?” Yuichi looked at Koki with a bit wondering look. “No, I was just thinking loud I guess… sometimes I do that” Koki laughed and he could see Yuichi’s mouth forming a little smile.
Koki and Yuichi kept quiet the rest of the way. Koki wanted to say something so many times but he didn’t, cause he thought that it would probably be uninteresting for Yuichi.
They finally got the restaurant and they sat down at a table that was big enough to make place for all four on each side of the table. They all looked at the menu and ordered and then it was just to wait for the food. The drink came first and they all sat sipping on their drinks and chatting. Junno and Ueda took red wine and Yuichi and Koki took beer. Koki knew that Junno always took wine at first then when they were going to a club or something, it was then he started to drink beer and other drinks. However, Koki went strait for it and later he took most drinks and stuff like that. Koki got a bit surprised when Yuichi ordered beer. Koki thought he maybe was more like the Junno type that started with wine and then he went for beer and drinks, but he ordered beer. Koki started too realize that he maybe totally have misunderstood this guy.
The dinner went on and they all had pretty fun. They were laughing, chatting and having a great time. Even Yuichi started to loose a bit and he started to talk more. Koki started know more about him. Yuichi was studding, living on his own and he sounds like not having such a good contact with his mom and his dad he never mentioned. Koki guessed that the parents probably broke when he was young and because of that, he maybe had it pretty tuff when it came to his parents. It must been such a disappointment when your parents just brakes up with each other and ever since you was borne the one you known as mother and father that loved each other, was now mother and father but they didn’t talk and they didn’t live with each other. It must have been hard for him.
The time went on and it was now time to do the “go out” part. Koki was now exited, to this whole situation and he thought that he and Yuichi maybe were going to have more fun then he thought from the beginning. Besides both he and Yuichi had been drinking a several beers, so they both were pretty relaxed by now.
When they walked out from the restaurant the question “were should we go?” came up. Koki, of course, knew some places near by and suggested them. Both Ueda and Yuichi never heard of the club names before but Junno knew two of them and suggested one called “The Black and White Room“. They agreed and started to walk.
Once again they got split up in two groups and it was as same as last time except for that this time it was Koki and Yuichi that was going first and they were talking about everything between sky and earth. Koki and Yuichi was laughing loud as they were walking down the street. Koki just as an normal reaction put his arm over Yuichi’s shoulders and kept laughing. He could see that Yuichi reacted to his action but it seemed he didn’t mind. So what? Koki walked beside Yuichi holding his arm wrapped around him, it was nothing wrong about it, just a friendly gesture.
When they reached the club, Koki did let go of Yuichi and as before Yuichi noticed the action but he didn’t do anything about it. They all went in and Koki could feel the bass from the music that was playing pounding down deep in his chest.
They sat down at a new table, this time it was round and they all where sitting in a sofa together. Yuichi sat next to Ueda that had Junno on his right side and Koki sat on the left side of Yuichi.
Now they where going to order drinks and it was now Koki found all the fun to begin. Koki was going to take a Rum’N’ Coke drink, Junno and Ueda started with beer and Yuichi was also going to take a beer but Koki thought that this is his chance to make this night start.
“Yuichi don’t be like the other two week ones take…” Koki thought for a moment and then he said “take the same as me” Koki saw that Yuichi was considering to the options and he thought that he probably would take the beer anyway.
“Sure, take one the same as yours Koki” Yuichi said with a little challenging tone. “Great! Then I’ll go and order” Koki said and walked away to the bar.
“I will come too and help you out” Junno said, “you can probably not carry all four glasses on your own” he added while he got up from his seat. Koki hadn’t given it a thought but I was a good idea indeed. Besides, now he could talk a bit with Junno on his own.
They both walked to the bar and ordered the drinks. Mean while Ueda and Yuichi still sat there and waited. They were also going to talk a bit about how the night is going.
Yuichi’s part
Ueda faced Yuichi. “I’m so sorry if you feel that I ignore you or something like that its just… I’m so glad to see Junno and I’m so glad that you came with me. Besides you and Koki are pretty good friends now aren’t you?”
Yuichi didn’t think that you could say that they were good friends but friends yes, maybe.
He was happy that he took the beer instead of whine earlier, he thought that it was a kind of a help with a bit alcohol in the body, it made him relax a bit. He now started to answer Uedas question “well yes we’re friends but not good friends… just friends.”
“Haha… when we were walking you could nearly think that you are more then friends, especially when he laid his arm around you” Ueda made a big grin. Yuichi felt his cheeks starting to blush “well it wasn’t anything special just a friendly act, nothing else.” he tried to have a tone sounding that he wanted to stop this conversation especially now when he saw that Koki and Junno was coming back.
“Hi guys, missed us?“ Koki smiled to both Yuichi and Ueda “here’s your drink Yuichi!” Koki placed a big glass of Rom ’N’ Coke coke in front of Yuichi. He gulped of the size of the glass. He would probably get very drunk if he drank all of that. He started to question himself, why did he have to take the same as Koki. He’s not used to alcohol as Koki probably is.
Koki lifted his glass and shouted, “Sheers!” Junno and Ueda lifted their glasses too and Yuichi just followed the others. They all clinked the glasses together and sang in one tone “sheers!”. Yuichi looked over at Koki that nicely brought the glass over to his lips and he drank it with no problem. Yuichi moved the glass to his lips and let the alcohol blended with coke, run down his troth. He took two big swallows of it and then putted the glass down. He looked at the glass that looked still full and then he felt the after coming taste. It was strong you could feel all of the bitter rum taste but not so much coke taste. He thought to himself that this was going to be a long night.
The time past, Junno and Ueda had already drunk a several beers and some drinks. Now they were out dancing somewhere at the dance floor with all the other people. Koki and Yuichi had a little challenge, which could drink most of the Rum ’N’ Coke drinks. Yuichi knew he probably would lose but the alcohol had made him say “yes” at Koki’s suggestion while his head said “NO“.
Yuichi was on his third drink and Koki on his fourth. Yuichi felt that he now was officially drunk. He felt some times when he moved too fast that the room was spinning and he started to feel a bit tired. Yuichi froze in his drunken thoughts when he felt an arm sneaking around his shoulders. He looked at the direction were it came from and found Koki once again laying his arm around Yuichi’s shoulders.
“Hey Yuuchi, you’re a good drinker, and I have too say… that I’m surprised.” Koki said so close to Yuichi, that he could feel Koki’s alcohol breath, on his ear and neck. He also noticed that he wasn’t the only one to bee drunk, Koki slurred while he was speaking and he said his name wrong but Yuichi didn’t mind he find it a bit funny and smiled for himself.
Koki took his arm back and went up, a bit unsteady. He offered his hand to Yuichi and said, “So… let’s see how good you are at dancing?” Yuichi didn’t know what to say he just took the hand and followed Koki to the dance floor where the big crowd of people was dancing and in there with all the people, Junno and Ueda probably where.
Koki stopped and took Yuichi’s hand and laid it behind his neck while he putted his other hand on Yuichi’s hip and held him close. Yuichi started too feel the heart beat up a little. He tried to remember how to dance but thanks to the alcohol he guessed, his body went perfectly in rhythm with Koki’s to the loud music. Yuichi thought Ueda saying one time that Koki wasn’t gay. However, Yuichi had to admit that this wasn’t what two heterosexual guys usually did together. He didn’t mind really, it felt nice to be close to Koki to bee in his arms swaying to the music. The smell of Koki’s perfume mixed with smoke and alcohol made him feel safe. He didn’t know why, it was just the feeling safe he felt right there on the dance floor.
Koki now moved his body even closer to Yuichi while he putted his arms around Yuichi’s body just like a hug. Koki rested his head on Yuichi’s shoulder. Yuichi felt it so nice and warm in Koki’s arms that he too rested his head on Koki’s shoulder. Yuichi got all warm in his body when he stood there with Koki.
Koki suddenly went up with the head, as if he noticed something. Yuichi tried to turn as best as he could without leaving Koki’s safe embrace. He saw Junno waving to them and Ueda was trying to get his phone from the pocket. When Ueda finally got it, he fast dialed a number and putted the phone to the ear. Yuichi felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. He fished it up with one hand and putted it to his ear.
“Yuichi! Take Koki and get over here! NOW!” Ueda shouted at the other end of the phone, then he just hung up. Yuichi looked at his phone wondering what the hell Ueda meant. He looked at Koki that looked confused and sleepy. “it was Ueda, he said that I have to get you and me back to the table” Yuichi looked for any reaction on Koki’s face but the only thing he got was a nod and then Koki grabbed his hand and started to get thru the people back to the table. Yuichi just followed like a boneless doll and then suddenly they were at the table again where Ueda and Junno was waiting.
“We have been trying to get contact with you guys for several minutes” Junno said laying a caring hand on Koki’s shoulder who was totally somewhere else then on earth. “Haha… Koki your drunk!” Junno laughed. Ueda went to Yuichi’s side and asked, “He haven’t done anything, right?” Yuichi felt Uedas alcohol breath and thought that he was very caring even when he was drunk. “No, nothing at all, we was just dancing” Yuichi said back to Ueda. Ueda breathed out pleased with that answer.
“Yuichi I’m going home with Junno, do you think you can get home by your own?” Yuichi thought of it and yes, he probably could do that. “Yes, no problem” Ueda smiled and went over to Junno. They said a few words. Then Koki came up to Yuichi.
“Seems like the party is over huh? Heard from Ueda that you were going to walk home on your own?” Yuichi agreed with a nod. “I wont allow that, I walk you home” Koki suddenly was more serious then before but still sleepy and he was still slurring a bit less then before. Yuichi nodded once more and Koki went for his hoodie and then grabbed Yuichi’s arm leading him out of the club. Yuichi turned and waived to Junno and Ueda that hadn’t gone home yet but was just going too and they both waived back and saw how Yuichi wandered away together with Koki.
Koki’s part
Out on the street Koki started too put his Hoodie on. He was tired and his head was heavy from all alcohol but he could still think clear, at least he thought so. He looked over at Yuichi who was walking beside him. Koki tried to figure out why he had been acting as he did. He never danced with guys like he and Yuichi did, now when he thought about it, he couldn’t remember that he ever danced with guys. So why now all of a sudden.
He looked again at Yuichi who was having his arms wrapped around his body. Koki now noticed that Yuichi’s jacket made his body very slender-looking. He had also noticed when he was dancing with Yuichi, that the guy was very thin. However, he didn’t mind, the body had fitted perfectly against his so… He froze in his drunken thoughts and noticed two things. First, why was he thinking about Yuichi’s body all of a sudden and two, why didn’t Yuichi have a coat on, it was pretty cold outside.
“Hey did you forget to take your coat or something?” Koki asked and looked at a sleepy, shivering Yuichi.
“No, this was all I had” Yuichi confirmed and turned to start walk again. Koki went over to Yuichi, he took off his hoodie and laid it around Yuichi. Yuichi looked surprised up at Koki’s action.
“What are you doing? You will get cold!” Yuichi tried to take the hoodie off and give it back but Koki made it stay with his arm around Yuichi’s shoulders. “No, I’m fine but you can get cold that’s why you should have it on” Koki tried too look seriously at Yuichi and hoped he wasn’t going to argue more about it.
“Fine, but tell me if you need it!” Yuichi finally said and kept walking forward. Koki gave a victory smile and followed Yuichi. “By the way, where do you live?”
“Its maybe just a five minutes walk, are you tired?” Yuichi looked with concern but Koki could see how tired Yuichi was, probably after all the drinks that Koki gave him. It had worked with the alcohol, Yuichi had been talking more and he was funny when you learned to know him, not just when he was drunk but anyway. Koki still had the picture in his head when they were dancing. It was such a perfect moment. Perhaps Koki can get a new friend or even better, he already has a new friend.
When they reached the gate after an eternity as Koki’s drunk and tired body felt it, Yuichi went strait in and didn’t even give a thought of Koki that was only following. Yuichi lived on the second floor so it was two stairs to walk up for.
They reached the door, Yuichi fished up the keys from his pocket, and after trying to hit the key lock, they got in to the welcoming warm apartment. Koki felt so relived when the warmth in Yuichi’s apartment reached his cold body. Yuichi took the hoodie off and grabbed Koki’s arm to give it back when he jumped a step back with a terrified look. “What is it?” Koki asked confused.
“Your… cold as an ice cube!” Yuichi yelled and went into a room and came back as fast as he went away, accept for that he was swaying a bit when he was walking, with a blanket. He took Koki into the kitchen and sat him down at the table. He started to make tea and was mumbling for himself some words that Koki didn’t catch.
“You should drink something warm” that was all Yuichi said, for the last few minutes.
Koki sat with a cup with warm tea in his hands and a blanket wrapped around him. Yuichi sat at the other end and was looking at Koki with a drunk but worried look. Yuichi reached forward to touch Koki’s hands, and at the reaction that Yuichi made, Koki guessed he was still cold.
“No, this is not working” Yuichi went up and walked over to Koki.
“Wait what is not working?” Koki asked when Yuichi tried to take his hand from the cup and pulled him in the arm to follow him.
“Your still ice cold you need to get warm, otherwise you’ll get sick!” Yuichi tried once more to drag Koki with him but Koki protested “It’s fine, I’m totally…Hugh” Koki coughed a bit and Yuichi didn’t hesitate. He dragged Koki with him into the bathroom where he pulled of Koki’s sweater and when Koki’s chest was exposed, Yuichi froze in his action. Yuichi turned on the heel and went strait out of the bathroom, closed the door and left Koki all alone in there.
“You can take your clothes off on your own, take a warm shower and there are bath towels on the wash machine to the left of the shower.” Yuichi shouted from the other side of the door.
It was very quiet from the side where Yuichi was. Koki went over to the door and listened if Yuichi still was standing outside the door. After no sign of Yuichi, Koki turned and sighed heavy. What was he doing, it was in the middle of the night he was still drunk but not totally gone and he was now standing half-naked in a guy’s bathroom, which he met two times in his entire life. Koki sighed again and went for his pants while he thought to himself “now when I’m here, why not take a shower. I’m actually freezing so it will be nice.”
Koki went in to the shower and felt the hot water run down his neck and down on his back. It was great to feel such warm. It felt like all his drunkenness was washed away with the water he felt clearer in the head and it was not as heavy as earlier but he was still tired.
Koki took a fast shower then took the bath towel and dried himself. He wrapped the towel over his hips and went out to ask if he could stay for a while before he left. He felt tired and he had nearly one and half hour to go to get home so it would be nice to rest just a few minutes before going out to the cold street again.
Koki went out to the kitchen where Yuichi sat on one of the chairs with his head resting on the table. It looked like he was sleeping because his face looked so relaxed, but he probably wasn’t. Koki went over to him and was just about to touch him on the shoulder when he heard a soft inhale and Yuichi moved a little but kept the eyes closed, with the same relaxed look like before. “Was he really sleeping?” Koki asked himself.
Yuichi shifted again and gave a new sound that was more like a whimper, as if he was a scared puppy or something. Koki looked at Yuichi and now Yuichi did not look so relaxed, more like it was something that was disturbing him. “Yuichi, wake up” Koki patted the other one on the shoulder but there was no reaction except for one thing Yuichi started to mumble something. Koki tried again “hey Yuichi, wake up.” Like the last time, there was no answer just more whimpers. Yuichi started to move even more, like he was struggling to get away from something.
“No… stop… pleas stop” Yuichi said very low but loud enough so Koki heard. Koki was confused, what was the guy talking about, He was just standing there he haven’t done anything. Then it hit him, Yuichi had a nightmare.
“NO… PLEAS STOP…NO!” Koki jumped when Yuichi suddenly yelled out in the room. Koki looked even more confused then before. Then he saw how Yuichi began to cry. Tears were rolling down his cheeks. Once again, he started to scream, “STOP…PLEAS DON’T… PLEAS STOP!”
Koki grabbed Yuichi’s shoulders and tried to wake him up “Yuichi wake up!” but he didn’t hear. It was as if he was hypnotized, he didn’t listen to anything. He kept screaming and the tears were now streaming down his cheeks. Koki thought that it must bee a very realistic dream and painful, “I have to do something.”
Koki grabbed Yuichi by his arms and tried again wake him up but Yuichi suddenly flipped his arm so it smacked Koki in the face. “STOP…DON’T TOUCH ME!” Yuichi started to waive with his arms to stop Koki from grabbing them. Koki didn’t now what to do so he pushed away the arms and tried to look Yuichi‘s body in his arms. Koki felt how Yuichi tried to get away from him but he was stronger then Yuichi.
He held his arms around Yuichi tight and tried to calm him down. “Yuichi, it’s me Koki! You are just dreaming! WAKE UP!” Yuichi was not listening, he kept trying to get away from Koki with waving his arms and again he hit Koki in the face but this time, he accidentally scratched Koki with one of his nails and Koki got a long cut on his right cheek. Koki got behind Yuichi to avoid the arms and instead of getting hit by them he successfully grabbed both of Yuichi’s arms and pushed them together against Yuichi’s chest. Koki now managed to hold Yuichi still all he now needed to do was to fully wake him up and get him calm.
Koki tried everything to make Yuichi calm down but it felt like impossible. He tried one more time and begged to god that Yuichi would hear him. “Yuichi, it’s me, Koki… you don’t need to be scared, I’m here… you’re just dreaming, pleas wake up” and then at that moment Yuichi flickered his eyes open…
Yuichi’s part
“What… where… am I?” He was breathing heavily and felt dizzy. He was looking around in the room and tried to figure out where he was when a voice suddenly came from behind “your at home, in your apartment, you’ve just had a nightmare. But it’s okey now”. It was Koki who sat behind him, while patting him on the shoulder.
“Oh… Koki I thought you left and that…” Yuichi stopped, “and what…?” Koki asked. He couldn’t tell Koki about his nightmares, and his memories and all the other stuff that was hunting him from the past. He didn’t know Koki that well and he definitely don’t want to scare him off so he leaves.
Koki asked again “and what… Yuichi?”
“Nothing important… it was just a nightmare” Yuichi felt how he was still breathing a bit heavy from the dream, but now it started to slow down. He turned his head and faced Koki, at the same time he got a surprise when he saw that Koki was sitting with only a bath towel around his hips.
“Ehm… why are you just wearing a bath towel?” Yuichi looked with wide eyes at Koki that was looking down at himself “well… I was just done with the shower and then I came out to the kitchen and found you sleeping and then you had this nightmare, by the way what did you dream about? It must have been realistic after all the screams and how you were waving with your arms.”
Yuichi thought for himself how right Koki was, the dream was realistic, in fact, it was his memories from his childhood, but he couldn’t tell Koki that.
“As I said earlier it was only a nightmare nothing else” Yuichi hoped that Koki would fall for a easy lie like that, but it didn’t look like he convinced when they both raised from the chair and ended up just standing in the kitchen with an awkward silence.
Koki was the one to break the silence “well… I should get my clothes and get home” Koki turned on the heel and started to walk away. Yuichi thought about being alone after his dream made him frightened and the thought of that it probably will come back when he’s alone, made him even more frightened.
He took a fast step forward to stop Koki from leaving, “wait!” but he ended up tripping and was now falling to the floor. He stretched out his arms to grab on something but he didn’t find anything to grab on to. It was then he felt two arms coming around him and he had now landed safely, half on the floor and half hanging around Koki’s neck.
He was shocked from the fall but the first thing he thought of was if Koki was okey, he was just about to ask him but Koki was first “are you okey?” he looked down at yuichi with a worried look, Yuichi looked back “yes I’m fine, how about…” Yuichi stopped. He notices a scar on Koki’s right cheek. He could not remember that Koki had it earlier. “Koki you have a scar on your cheek” Yuichi pointed on his own right cheek, to make it easier for Koki to find the said place.
“Yeah I know, I got it when I tried to wake you up earlier” Koki touched his cheek while saying that.
That sentence made Yuichi feel cold inside. ”have I hurt Koki?” the words from Koki and his own thoughts was swimming around in his head and he didn’t know what to do. He could apologize and so he did ”I’m sorry, I didn’t mean too! I’m really, really sorry and…” Koki cut his words” it’s fine, just a scratch, I’ll live” He gave Yuichi a wink, Yuichi didn’t get why but it helped a bit to see him smile.
”Okey” Yuichi said while he was rising from the floor.
He thought of why he had ended up falling from the first beginning and continued his question. “Ehm… why I fell, or why I was going after you, was because I wondered… just if you wanted to… maybe… stay and sleep here?” Yuichi’s brain couldn’t find any better formulation of the question then that and Yuichi’s face wanted to look down on the floor. His body language must say “SHY!” all over.
“I don’t know I mean, aren’t I’m disturbing?” Koki answered while scratching his head.
“No, its fine you’re not disturbing… it’s just that… I’m a bit scared, after that dream, that’s why I’m asking you to stay” he felt so stupid, Koki probably didn’t want to stay.
Yuichi saw how Koki was thinking then Koki opened his mouth and the answer was relived” sure, I will stay” Koki then turned once again on the heel and wandered back to the bathroom.
He left Yuichi in the kitchen and he looked like he was smiling on the way, maybe he wanted to stay. Yuichi felt his own mouth forming a smile. He stood there maybe a minute or two, just smiling. Then he remembered that he needed to take the extra madras up from the basement and he needed to find some clothes that Koki could borrow or… maybe he was sleeping with only his boxers on. That thought made Yuichi blush. As lucky as he was, he was alone in the kitchen when he tried to shake that thought out of his head and get the redness of the face. He took a deep breath and went out of the kitchen. He had a few things to do now when he was going to have a friend staying over.
Yuichi stood in the hallway when Koki came out from the bathroom” hey Yuichi, what are you doing?”
Yuichi looked up from his jacket that was in his hands ”I’m searching for my key to the basement but… I can’t find it” he continued looking thru his pockets and then went into the bedroom to look there.
He had been searching everywhere but the key was totally gone and if he couldn’t find the key, Koki didn’t have anywhere to sleep. Koki walked in to the room and looked around ”so, did you fin the key?” he was now looking at Yuichi who stood there and didn’t know what to say, he wanted Koki to stay but the damn key was the only damn problem right now.
”Well, unfortunately not” Yuichi felt sad he faced the floor, he felt even more stupid now. He asks Koki if he want to stay but he doesn’t have a place for him to sleep. So embarrassing as it can be.
”Why did you have to find the key anyway?” Yuichi looked up from Koki’s question.
”Because in the basement I have the extra madras that you could have slept on but now, when I cant find the key I cant get the madras.” Yuichi’s failed plan was relived he was now officially a dork.
”Oh… I thought we was going to share bed cause I didn’t want to make a mess in your home, so… its okey with me if you want to share the bed with me. Otherwise I can go home if its problem for you to fix a place for me to sleep”. Yuichi had not even thought of the idea of sleeping in the same bed but it could work, besides his bed would fit for them both. It would be embarrassing but he would probably live thru it, he hoped.
”Sure, we could do that, I’ll fix an extra cover for you” Yuichi went down on the knees and looked under the bed. He had a big box under the bed where he had extra pillows and covers. He took out a pillow and a cover for Koki. He putted the things on the bed and laid his own stuff on the side closest to the wall. He looked over at Koki.
”Everything’s done so you can go to bed whenever you feel like” Koki past Yuichi and petted him on the shoulder ”thanks” and gave a smile as a finish of the sentence.
Yuichi went for the bathroom and was going to make himself ready for the night. When he was done, he went to kitchen, turned the lights out and then the hallway on the way back to the bedroom. When he came in the first thing he noticed was that Koki was still awake flipping on his phone, writing a text message Yuichi guessed.
”It was from Junno and Ueda, they wanted to say good night and thank for the great company tonight” Yuichi looked surprised at Koki who suddenly had spoken to him.
”Well, that’s nice…” Koki looked up at Yuichi when he answered, ”I thanked them for the good company and then I said good night from both of us if that’s okey” Yuichi was even more surprised, not that Koki answered but in both names it was kind of him to do, Yuichi nodded back as answer. Koki laid phone in his pocket and then pulled of his shirt and started to change. Yuichi felt that he was blushing so he turned around and then he changed into his own pajama pants. It was as he thought, Koki didn’t mind that Yuichi was there and he went to the bed in only his boxers and nothing else. Yuichi hoped that Koki wouldn’t see his blushed face and went strait to the bed after he turned of the lights.
Koki was sitting in the bed with the back against the wall., Blipping on the phone again. Yuichi went over to his side past Koki and went strait down under the cover and faced the wall.
”Oyasumi, Yuichi” Koki said behind Yuichi’s back. Yuichi turned on the head and answered back.
”Oyasumi, Koki” Yuichi felt that Koki laid down beside him and breathed out a heavy sighed.
After a few minutes, Yuichi was still awake. He thought that Koki had fallen asleep and Koki probably thought so too about Yuichi cause in the dark, Yuichi suddenly heard Koki shifting in the bed then he started to talk quiet for himself, Yuichi at least thought so.
”Your probably sleeping but I wanted to say this, I couldn’t say it earlier when you was awake.” Yuichi was holding his breath, ”was he talking to me?” Yuichi didn’t know what to do but Koki went on ”I’m glad that you asked me to stay, I was considering of asking you, but I was scared. I hope we can get to be really good friends in the future though. Well I just wanted to thank you for everything this night, but I’m such a coward who can’t even say it too you when your awake. And about that dream, I don’t believe it was only a nightmare and I hoped you felt save enough with me to tell me about a nightmare, but you wouldn’t tell and I actually care about you, so when you feel ready just tell me and I will try to understand you.” Yuichi heard Koki shift again, then Koki whispered over his shoulder ”I’m here and I will try to protect you from your nightmares, Oyasumi, Yuichi”
Yuichi stared at the wall he didn’t know what to do or what to say. He just laid there and was considering two options. Option one: he won’t tell Koki about the nightmare and pretend as it was nothing or option two: he tells Koki about what happened in his childhood, but would Koki be able to handle the burden of knowing what happened to Yuichi in his childhood?

A/N: The second part!! hope you like it!! pleas comment so i know if it's bad or good!!
Koki’s part
Koki just wanted to smack his head for saying all the unnecessary things but somehow he actually managed to say what he wanted, cause he waned to be friend with Yuichi but he didn’t know how. He was looking down at the ground and got a bit scared when Yuichi didn’t say anything he looked up and smiled at him and hoped that Yuichi would see through him and see that Koki meant what he said. But he probably didn’t, cause all he did was looking at Koki. Koki started to think that there was no hope, he has once again lost a chance to get a new friend, but then Yuichi suddenly spoke.
“I know how you mean. I think everyone want to be themselves in times like this, but something is holding you back and you can’t even talk cause you’re to scared to say wrong or do wrong and then you don’t fit in anymore.”
Koki looked at Yuichi, and thought that this guy maybe actually understood. However, maybe he wasn’t such a bad guy after all. Maybe all Yuichi needed to do was to relax. Koki thought of Junno’s idea of making Yuichi drunk and bring the bad side of Yuichi, but Koki didn’t want to bring the bad side but just a little alcohol and maybe Yuichi could be himself a bit and relax for a while.
“Hm… I feel like that sometimes” Koki said and Yuichi looked a bit surprised. Koki continued, “I feel sometimes that I don’t fit in and it was kind of that feeling I had when I was going to meet you and Ueda tonight. I was scared that you were not going to like me or think I was weird, but I think it’s going to be fun to know you and Ueda.” Koki was surprised over himself. He never used to bee this open to people he only met two times but in some way, he felt a bit calm and secure with Yuichi especially when he knew that Yuichi understood him, at least a little.
“It’s going to bee nice to get to know you and Junno too” Yuichi replied.
Koki was sure that Yuichi was a great guy and he was going to get that guy to come out and not hide in a shelf. “Yes” he thought aloud, maybe too loud.
“Did you say something?” Yuichi looked at Koki with a bit wondering look. “No, I was just thinking loud I guess… sometimes I do that” Koki laughed and he could see Yuichi’s mouth forming a little smile.
Koki and Yuichi kept quiet the rest of the way. Koki wanted to say something so many times but he didn’t, cause he thought that it would probably be uninteresting for Yuichi.
They finally got the restaurant and they sat down at a table that was big enough to make place for all four on each side of the table. They all looked at the menu and ordered and then it was just to wait for the food. The drink came first and they all sat sipping on their drinks and chatting. Junno and Ueda took red wine and Yuichi and Koki took beer. Koki knew that Junno always took wine at first then when they were going to a club or something, it was then he started to drink beer and other drinks. However, Koki went strait for it and later he took most drinks and stuff like that. Koki got a bit surprised when Yuichi ordered beer. Koki thought he maybe was more like the Junno type that started with wine and then he went for beer and drinks, but he ordered beer. Koki started too realize that he maybe totally have misunderstood this guy.
The dinner went on and they all had pretty fun. They were laughing, chatting and having a great time. Even Yuichi started to loose a bit and he started to talk more. Koki started know more about him. Yuichi was studding, living on his own and he sounds like not having such a good contact with his mom and his dad he never mentioned. Koki guessed that the parents probably broke when he was young and because of that, he maybe had it pretty tuff when it came to his parents. It must been such a disappointment when your parents just brakes up with each other and ever since you was borne the one you known as mother and father that loved each other, was now mother and father but they didn’t talk and they didn’t live with each other. It must have been hard for him.
The time went on and it was now time to do the “go out” part. Koki was now exited, to this whole situation and he thought that he and Yuichi maybe were going to have more fun then he thought from the beginning. Besides both he and Yuichi had been drinking a several beers, so they both were pretty relaxed by now.
When they walked out from the restaurant the question “were should we go?” came up. Koki, of course, knew some places near by and suggested them. Both Ueda and Yuichi never heard of the club names before but Junno knew two of them and suggested one called “The Black and White Room“. They agreed and started to walk.
Once again they got split up in two groups and it was as same as last time except for that this time it was Koki and Yuichi that was going first and they were talking about everything between sky and earth. Koki and Yuichi was laughing loud as they were walking down the street. Koki just as an normal reaction put his arm over Yuichi’s shoulders and kept laughing. He could see that Yuichi reacted to his action but it seemed he didn’t mind. So what? Koki walked beside Yuichi holding his arm wrapped around him, it was nothing wrong about it, just a friendly gesture.
When they reached the club, Koki did let go of Yuichi and as before Yuichi noticed the action but he didn’t do anything about it. They all went in and Koki could feel the bass from the music that was playing pounding down deep in his chest.
They sat down at a new table, this time it was round and they all where sitting in a sofa together. Yuichi sat next to Ueda that had Junno on his right side and Koki sat on the left side of Yuichi.
Now they where going to order drinks and it was now Koki found all the fun to begin. Koki was going to take a Rum’N’ Coke drink, Junno and Ueda started with beer and Yuichi was also going to take a beer but Koki thought that this is his chance to make this night start.
“Yuichi don’t be like the other two week ones take…” Koki thought for a moment and then he said “take the same as me” Koki saw that Yuichi was considering to the options and he thought that he probably would take the beer anyway.
“Sure, take one the same as yours Koki” Yuichi said with a little challenging tone. “Great! Then I’ll go and order” Koki said and walked away to the bar.
“I will come too and help you out” Junno said, “you can probably not carry all four glasses on your own” he added while he got up from his seat. Koki hadn’t given it a thought but I was a good idea indeed. Besides, now he could talk a bit with Junno on his own.
They both walked to the bar and ordered the drinks. Mean while Ueda and Yuichi still sat there and waited. They were also going to talk a bit about how the night is going.
Yuichi’s part
Ueda faced Yuichi. “I’m so sorry if you feel that I ignore you or something like that its just… I’m so glad to see Junno and I’m so glad that you came with me. Besides you and Koki are pretty good friends now aren’t you?”
Yuichi didn’t think that you could say that they were good friends but friends yes, maybe.
He was happy that he took the beer instead of whine earlier, he thought that it was a kind of a help with a bit alcohol in the body, it made him relax a bit. He now started to answer Uedas question “well yes we’re friends but not good friends… just friends.”
“Haha… when we were walking you could nearly think that you are more then friends, especially when he laid his arm around you” Ueda made a big grin. Yuichi felt his cheeks starting to blush “well it wasn’t anything special just a friendly act, nothing else.” he tried to have a tone sounding that he wanted to stop this conversation especially now when he saw that Koki and Junno was coming back.
“Hi guys, missed us?“ Koki smiled to both Yuichi and Ueda “here’s your drink Yuichi!” Koki placed a big glass of Rom ’N’ Coke coke in front of Yuichi. He gulped of the size of the glass. He would probably get very drunk if he drank all of that. He started to question himself, why did he have to take the same as Koki. He’s not used to alcohol as Koki probably is.
Koki lifted his glass and shouted, “Sheers!” Junno and Ueda lifted their glasses too and Yuichi just followed the others. They all clinked the glasses together and sang in one tone “sheers!”. Yuichi looked over at Koki that nicely brought the glass over to his lips and he drank it with no problem. Yuichi moved the glass to his lips and let the alcohol blended with coke, run down his troth. He took two big swallows of it and then putted the glass down. He looked at the glass that looked still full and then he felt the after coming taste. It was strong you could feel all of the bitter rum taste but not so much coke taste. He thought to himself that this was going to be a long night.
The time past, Junno and Ueda had already drunk a several beers and some drinks. Now they were out dancing somewhere at the dance floor with all the other people. Koki and Yuichi had a little challenge, which could drink most of the Rum ’N’ Coke drinks. Yuichi knew he probably would lose but the alcohol had made him say “yes” at Koki’s suggestion while his head said “NO“.
Yuichi was on his third drink and Koki on his fourth. Yuichi felt that he now was officially drunk. He felt some times when he moved too fast that the room was spinning and he started to feel a bit tired. Yuichi froze in his drunken thoughts when he felt an arm sneaking around his shoulders. He looked at the direction were it came from and found Koki once again laying his arm around Yuichi’s shoulders.
“Hey Yuuchi, you’re a good drinker, and I have too say… that I’m surprised.” Koki said so close to Yuichi, that he could feel Koki’s alcohol breath, on his ear and neck. He also noticed that he wasn’t the only one to bee drunk, Koki slurred while he was speaking and he said his name wrong but Yuichi didn’t mind he find it a bit funny and smiled for himself.
Koki took his arm back and went up, a bit unsteady. He offered his hand to Yuichi and said, “So… let’s see how good you are at dancing?” Yuichi didn’t know what to say he just took the hand and followed Koki to the dance floor where the big crowd of people was dancing and in there with all the people, Junno and Ueda probably where.
Koki stopped and took Yuichi’s hand and laid it behind his neck while he putted his other hand on Yuichi’s hip and held him close. Yuichi started too feel the heart beat up a little. He tried to remember how to dance but thanks to the alcohol he guessed, his body went perfectly in rhythm with Koki’s to the loud music. Yuichi thought Ueda saying one time that Koki wasn’t gay. However, Yuichi had to admit that this wasn’t what two heterosexual guys usually did together. He didn’t mind really, it felt nice to be close to Koki to bee in his arms swaying to the music. The smell of Koki’s perfume mixed with smoke and alcohol made him feel safe. He didn’t know why, it was just the feeling safe he felt right there on the dance floor.
Koki now moved his body even closer to Yuichi while he putted his arms around Yuichi’s body just like a hug. Koki rested his head on Yuichi’s shoulder. Yuichi felt it so nice and warm in Koki’s arms that he too rested his head on Koki’s shoulder. Yuichi got all warm in his body when he stood there with Koki.
Koki suddenly went up with the head, as if he noticed something. Yuichi tried to turn as best as he could without leaving Koki’s safe embrace. He saw Junno waving to them and Ueda was trying to get his phone from the pocket. When Ueda finally got it, he fast dialed a number and putted the phone to the ear. Yuichi felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. He fished it up with one hand and putted it to his ear.
“Yuichi! Take Koki and get over here! NOW!” Ueda shouted at the other end of the phone, then he just hung up. Yuichi looked at his phone wondering what the hell Ueda meant. He looked at Koki that looked confused and sleepy. “it was Ueda, he said that I have to get you and me back to the table” Yuichi looked for any reaction on Koki’s face but the only thing he got was a nod and then Koki grabbed his hand and started to get thru the people back to the table. Yuichi just followed like a boneless doll and then suddenly they were at the table again where Ueda and Junno was waiting.
“We have been trying to get contact with you guys for several minutes” Junno said laying a caring hand on Koki’s shoulder who was totally somewhere else then on earth. “Haha… Koki your drunk!” Junno laughed. Ueda went to Yuichi’s side and asked, “He haven’t done anything, right?” Yuichi felt Uedas alcohol breath and thought that he was very caring even when he was drunk. “No, nothing at all, we was just dancing” Yuichi said back to Ueda. Ueda breathed out pleased with that answer.
“Yuichi I’m going home with Junno, do you think you can get home by your own?” Yuichi thought of it and yes, he probably could do that. “Yes, no problem” Ueda smiled and went over to Junno. They said a few words. Then Koki came up to Yuichi.
“Seems like the party is over huh? Heard from Ueda that you were going to walk home on your own?” Yuichi agreed with a nod. “I wont allow that, I walk you home” Koki suddenly was more serious then before but still sleepy and he was still slurring a bit less then before. Yuichi nodded once more and Koki went for his hoodie and then grabbed Yuichi’s arm leading him out of the club. Yuichi turned and waived to Junno and Ueda that hadn’t gone home yet but was just going too and they both waived back and saw how Yuichi wandered away together with Koki.
Koki’s part
Out on the street Koki started too put his Hoodie on. He was tired and his head was heavy from all alcohol but he could still think clear, at least he thought so. He looked over at Yuichi who was walking beside him. Koki tried to figure out why he had been acting as he did. He never danced with guys like he and Yuichi did, now when he thought about it, he couldn’t remember that he ever danced with guys. So why now all of a sudden.
He looked again at Yuichi who was having his arms wrapped around his body. Koki now noticed that Yuichi’s jacket made his body very slender-looking. He had also noticed when he was dancing with Yuichi, that the guy was very thin. However, he didn’t mind, the body had fitted perfectly against his so… He froze in his drunken thoughts and noticed two things. First, why was he thinking about Yuichi’s body all of a sudden and two, why didn’t Yuichi have a coat on, it was pretty cold outside.
“Hey did you forget to take your coat or something?” Koki asked and looked at a sleepy, shivering Yuichi.
“No, this was all I had” Yuichi confirmed and turned to start walk again. Koki went over to Yuichi, he took off his hoodie and laid it around Yuichi. Yuichi looked surprised up at Koki’s action.
“What are you doing? You will get cold!” Yuichi tried to take the hoodie off and give it back but Koki made it stay with his arm around Yuichi’s shoulders. “No, I’m fine but you can get cold that’s why you should have it on” Koki tried too look seriously at Yuichi and hoped he wasn’t going to argue more about it.
“Fine, but tell me if you need it!” Yuichi finally said and kept walking forward. Koki gave a victory smile and followed Yuichi. “By the way, where do you live?”
“Its maybe just a five minutes walk, are you tired?” Yuichi looked with concern but Koki could see how tired Yuichi was, probably after all the drinks that Koki gave him. It had worked with the alcohol, Yuichi had been talking more and he was funny when you learned to know him, not just when he was drunk but anyway. Koki still had the picture in his head when they were dancing. It was such a perfect moment. Perhaps Koki can get a new friend or even better, he already has a new friend.
When they reached the gate after an eternity as Koki’s drunk and tired body felt it, Yuichi went strait in and didn’t even give a thought of Koki that was only following. Yuichi lived on the second floor so it was two stairs to walk up for.
They reached the door, Yuichi fished up the keys from his pocket, and after trying to hit the key lock, they got in to the welcoming warm apartment. Koki felt so relived when the warmth in Yuichi’s apartment reached his cold body. Yuichi took the hoodie off and grabbed Koki’s arm to give it back when he jumped a step back with a terrified look. “What is it?” Koki asked confused.
“Your… cold as an ice cube!” Yuichi yelled and went into a room and came back as fast as he went away, accept for that he was swaying a bit when he was walking, with a blanket. He took Koki into the kitchen and sat him down at the table. He started to make tea and was mumbling for himself some words that Koki didn’t catch.
“You should drink something warm” that was all Yuichi said, for the last few minutes.
Koki sat with a cup with warm tea in his hands and a blanket wrapped around him. Yuichi sat at the other end and was looking at Koki with a drunk but worried look. Yuichi reached forward to touch Koki’s hands, and at the reaction that Yuichi made, Koki guessed he was still cold.
“No, this is not working” Yuichi went up and walked over to Koki.
“Wait what is not working?” Koki asked when Yuichi tried to take his hand from the cup and pulled him in the arm to follow him.
“Your still ice cold you need to get warm, otherwise you’ll get sick!” Yuichi tried once more to drag Koki with him but Koki protested “It’s fine, I’m totally…Hugh” Koki coughed a bit and Yuichi didn’t hesitate. He dragged Koki with him into the bathroom where he pulled of Koki’s sweater and when Koki’s chest was exposed, Yuichi froze in his action. Yuichi turned on the heel and went strait out of the bathroom, closed the door and left Koki all alone in there.
“You can take your clothes off on your own, take a warm shower and there are bath towels on the wash machine to the left of the shower.” Yuichi shouted from the other side of the door.
It was very quiet from the side where Yuichi was. Koki went over to the door and listened if Yuichi still was standing outside the door. After no sign of Yuichi, Koki turned and sighed heavy. What was he doing, it was in the middle of the night he was still drunk but not totally gone and he was now standing half-naked in a guy’s bathroom, which he met two times in his entire life. Koki sighed again and went for his pants while he thought to himself “now when I’m here, why not take a shower. I’m actually freezing so it will be nice.”
Koki went in to the shower and felt the hot water run down his neck and down on his back. It was great to feel such warm. It felt like all his drunkenness was washed away with the water he felt clearer in the head and it was not as heavy as earlier but he was still tired.
Koki took a fast shower then took the bath towel and dried himself. He wrapped the towel over his hips and went out to ask if he could stay for a while before he left. He felt tired and he had nearly one and half hour to go to get home so it would be nice to rest just a few minutes before going out to the cold street again.
Koki went out to the kitchen where Yuichi sat on one of the chairs with his head resting on the table. It looked like he was sleeping because his face looked so relaxed, but he probably wasn’t. Koki went over to him and was just about to touch him on the shoulder when he heard a soft inhale and Yuichi moved a little but kept the eyes closed, with the same relaxed look like before. “Was he really sleeping?” Koki asked himself.
Yuichi shifted again and gave a new sound that was more like a whimper, as if he was a scared puppy or something. Koki looked at Yuichi and now Yuichi did not look so relaxed, more like it was something that was disturbing him. “Yuichi, wake up” Koki patted the other one on the shoulder but there was no reaction except for one thing Yuichi started to mumble something. Koki tried again “hey Yuichi, wake up.” Like the last time, there was no answer just more whimpers. Yuichi started to move even more, like he was struggling to get away from something.
“No… stop… pleas stop” Yuichi said very low but loud enough so Koki heard. Koki was confused, what was the guy talking about, He was just standing there he haven’t done anything. Then it hit him, Yuichi had a nightmare.
“NO… PLEAS STOP…NO!” Koki jumped when Yuichi suddenly yelled out in the room. Koki looked even more confused then before. Then he saw how Yuichi began to cry. Tears were rolling down his cheeks. Once again, he started to scream, “STOP…PLEAS DON’T… PLEAS STOP!”
Koki grabbed Yuichi’s shoulders and tried to wake him up “Yuichi wake up!” but he didn’t hear. It was as if he was hypnotized, he didn’t listen to anything. He kept screaming and the tears were now streaming down his cheeks. Koki thought that it must bee a very realistic dream and painful, “I have to do something.”
Koki grabbed Yuichi by his arms and tried again wake him up but Yuichi suddenly flipped his arm so it smacked Koki in the face. “STOP…DON’T TOUCH ME!” Yuichi started to waive with his arms to stop Koki from grabbing them. Koki didn’t now what to do so he pushed away the arms and tried to look Yuichi‘s body in his arms. Koki felt how Yuichi tried to get away from him but he was stronger then Yuichi.
He held his arms around Yuichi tight and tried to calm him down. “Yuichi, it’s me Koki! You are just dreaming! WAKE UP!” Yuichi was not listening, he kept trying to get away from Koki with waving his arms and again he hit Koki in the face but this time, he accidentally scratched Koki with one of his nails and Koki got a long cut on his right cheek. Koki got behind Yuichi to avoid the arms and instead of getting hit by them he successfully grabbed both of Yuichi’s arms and pushed them together against Yuichi’s chest. Koki now managed to hold Yuichi still all he now needed to do was to fully wake him up and get him calm.
Koki tried everything to make Yuichi calm down but it felt like impossible. He tried one more time and begged to god that Yuichi would hear him. “Yuichi, it’s me, Koki… you don’t need to be scared, I’m here… you’re just dreaming, pleas wake up” and then at that moment Yuichi flickered his eyes open…
Yuichi’s part
“What… where… am I?” He was breathing heavily and felt dizzy. He was looking around in the room and tried to figure out where he was when a voice suddenly came from behind “your at home, in your apartment, you’ve just had a nightmare. But it’s okey now”. It was Koki who sat behind him, while patting him on the shoulder.
“Oh… Koki I thought you left and that…” Yuichi stopped, “and what…?” Koki asked. He couldn’t tell Koki about his nightmares, and his memories and all the other stuff that was hunting him from the past. He didn’t know Koki that well and he definitely don’t want to scare him off so he leaves.
Koki asked again “and what… Yuichi?”
“Nothing important… it was just a nightmare” Yuichi felt how he was still breathing a bit heavy from the dream, but now it started to slow down. He turned his head and faced Koki, at the same time he got a surprise when he saw that Koki was sitting with only a bath towel around his hips.
“Ehm… why are you just wearing a bath towel?” Yuichi looked with wide eyes at Koki that was looking down at himself “well… I was just done with the shower and then I came out to the kitchen and found you sleeping and then you had this nightmare, by the way what did you dream about? It must have been realistic after all the screams and how you were waving with your arms.”
Yuichi thought for himself how right Koki was, the dream was realistic, in fact, it was his memories from his childhood, but he couldn’t tell Koki that.
“As I said earlier it was only a nightmare nothing else” Yuichi hoped that Koki would fall for a easy lie like that, but it didn’t look like he convinced when they both raised from the chair and ended up just standing in the kitchen with an awkward silence.
Koki was the one to break the silence “well… I should get my clothes and get home” Koki turned on the heel and started to walk away. Yuichi thought about being alone after his dream made him frightened and the thought of that it probably will come back when he’s alone, made him even more frightened.
He took a fast step forward to stop Koki from leaving, “wait!” but he ended up tripping and was now falling to the floor. He stretched out his arms to grab on something but he didn’t find anything to grab on to. It was then he felt two arms coming around him and he had now landed safely, half on the floor and half hanging around Koki’s neck.
He was shocked from the fall but the first thing he thought of was if Koki was okey, he was just about to ask him but Koki was first “are you okey?” he looked down at yuichi with a worried look, Yuichi looked back “yes I’m fine, how about…” Yuichi stopped. He notices a scar on Koki’s right cheek. He could not remember that Koki had it earlier. “Koki you have a scar on your cheek” Yuichi pointed on his own right cheek, to make it easier for Koki to find the said place.
“Yeah I know, I got it when I tried to wake you up earlier” Koki touched his cheek while saying that.
That sentence made Yuichi feel cold inside. ”have I hurt Koki?” the words from Koki and his own thoughts was swimming around in his head and he didn’t know what to do. He could apologize and so he did ”I’m sorry, I didn’t mean too! I’m really, really sorry and…” Koki cut his words” it’s fine, just a scratch, I’ll live” He gave Yuichi a wink, Yuichi didn’t get why but it helped a bit to see him smile.
”Okey” Yuichi said while he was rising from the floor.
He thought of why he had ended up falling from the first beginning and continued his question. “Ehm… why I fell, or why I was going after you, was because I wondered… just if you wanted to… maybe… stay and sleep here?” Yuichi’s brain couldn’t find any better formulation of the question then that and Yuichi’s face wanted to look down on the floor. His body language must say “SHY!” all over.
“I don’t know I mean, aren’t I’m disturbing?” Koki answered while scratching his head.
“No, its fine you’re not disturbing… it’s just that… I’m a bit scared, after that dream, that’s why I’m asking you to stay” he felt so stupid, Koki probably didn’t want to stay.
Yuichi saw how Koki was thinking then Koki opened his mouth and the answer was relived” sure, I will stay” Koki then turned once again on the heel and wandered back to the bathroom.
He left Yuichi in the kitchen and he looked like he was smiling on the way, maybe he wanted to stay. Yuichi felt his own mouth forming a smile. He stood there maybe a minute or two, just smiling. Then he remembered that he needed to take the extra madras up from the basement and he needed to find some clothes that Koki could borrow or… maybe he was sleeping with only his boxers on. That thought made Yuichi blush. As lucky as he was, he was alone in the kitchen when he tried to shake that thought out of his head and get the redness of the face. He took a deep breath and went out of the kitchen. He had a few things to do now when he was going to have a friend staying over.
Yuichi stood in the hallway when Koki came out from the bathroom” hey Yuichi, what are you doing?”
Yuichi looked up from his jacket that was in his hands ”I’m searching for my key to the basement but… I can’t find it” he continued looking thru his pockets and then went into the bedroom to look there.
He had been searching everywhere but the key was totally gone and if he couldn’t find the key, Koki didn’t have anywhere to sleep. Koki walked in to the room and looked around ”so, did you fin the key?” he was now looking at Yuichi who stood there and didn’t know what to say, he wanted Koki to stay but the damn key was the only damn problem right now.
”Well, unfortunately not” Yuichi felt sad he faced the floor, he felt even more stupid now. He asks Koki if he want to stay but he doesn’t have a place for him to sleep. So embarrassing as it can be.
”Why did you have to find the key anyway?” Yuichi looked up from Koki’s question.
”Because in the basement I have the extra madras that you could have slept on but now, when I cant find the key I cant get the madras.” Yuichi’s failed plan was relived he was now officially a dork.
”Oh… I thought we was going to share bed cause I didn’t want to make a mess in your home, so… its okey with me if you want to share the bed with me. Otherwise I can go home if its problem for you to fix a place for me to sleep”. Yuichi had not even thought of the idea of sleeping in the same bed but it could work, besides his bed would fit for them both. It would be embarrassing but he would probably live thru it, he hoped.
”Sure, we could do that, I’ll fix an extra cover for you” Yuichi went down on the knees and looked under the bed. He had a big box under the bed where he had extra pillows and covers. He took out a pillow and a cover for Koki. He putted the things on the bed and laid his own stuff on the side closest to the wall. He looked over at Koki.
”Everything’s done so you can go to bed whenever you feel like” Koki past Yuichi and petted him on the shoulder ”thanks” and gave a smile as a finish of the sentence.
Yuichi went for the bathroom and was going to make himself ready for the night. When he was done, he went to kitchen, turned the lights out and then the hallway on the way back to the bedroom. When he came in the first thing he noticed was that Koki was still awake flipping on his phone, writing a text message Yuichi guessed.
”It was from Junno and Ueda, they wanted to say good night and thank for the great company tonight” Yuichi looked surprised at Koki who suddenly had spoken to him.
”Well, that’s nice…” Koki looked up at Yuichi when he answered, ”I thanked them for the good company and then I said good night from both of us if that’s okey” Yuichi was even more surprised, not that Koki answered but in both names it was kind of him to do, Yuichi nodded back as answer. Koki laid phone in his pocket and then pulled of his shirt and started to change. Yuichi felt that he was blushing so he turned around and then he changed into his own pajama pants. It was as he thought, Koki didn’t mind that Yuichi was there and he went to the bed in only his boxers and nothing else. Yuichi hoped that Koki wouldn’t see his blushed face and went strait to the bed after he turned of the lights.
Koki was sitting in the bed with the back against the wall., Blipping on the phone again. Yuichi went over to his side past Koki and went strait down under the cover and faced the wall.
”Oyasumi, Yuichi” Koki said behind Yuichi’s back. Yuichi turned on the head and answered back.
”Oyasumi, Koki” Yuichi felt that Koki laid down beside him and breathed out a heavy sighed.
After a few minutes, Yuichi was still awake. He thought that Koki had fallen asleep and Koki probably thought so too about Yuichi cause in the dark, Yuichi suddenly heard Koki shifting in the bed then he started to talk quiet for himself, Yuichi at least thought so.
”Your probably sleeping but I wanted to say this, I couldn’t say it earlier when you was awake.” Yuichi was holding his breath, ”was he talking to me?” Yuichi didn’t know what to do but Koki went on ”I’m glad that you asked me to stay, I was considering of asking you, but I was scared. I hope we can get to be really good friends in the future though. Well I just wanted to thank you for everything this night, but I’m such a coward who can’t even say it too you when your awake. And about that dream, I don’t believe it was only a nightmare and I hoped you felt save enough with me to tell me about a nightmare, but you wouldn’t tell and I actually care about you, so when you feel ready just tell me and I will try to understand you.” Yuichi heard Koki shift again, then Koki whispered over his shoulder ”I’m here and I will try to protect you from your nightmares, Oyasumi, Yuichi”
Yuichi stared at the wall he didn’t know what to do or what to say. He just laid there and was considering two options. Option one: he won’t tell Koki about the nightmare and pretend as it was nothing or option two: he tells Koki about what happened in his childhood, but would Koki be able to handle the burden of knowing what happened to Yuichi in his childhood?
