Hospitals = bleh.
Okay, so. I was going to post about this days ago, but I was rather busy.
Mom had the other knee replaced a while ago (a few months after the first one was done), but it kept getting infected. So on Monday, the first day of my pathetically short Fall Break, she went into the hospital for another cleaning of the incision. Long story short, the doctor decided that the infection was in the new knee itself, so he took it out. She's got a spacer in there now between the bones, soaked in antibiotics, and she's got to have a bag of antibiotics through her IV everyday for about five weeks now.
Anyway, our hospital sucks and it was when her IV fell out and it took like ten minutes for a nurse to come and fix it that I decided I should stay at home the rest of the week and help out, so Dad could go to work at all during the day. So I spent most of the week at the hospital, and they let her go home finally on Friday. I felt bad going back to school today (although I obviously missed it), but I felt much better leaving her at home than at the hospital.
I also had to reschedule my Greek midterm and am turning in two papers several days late tomorrow. I think the teacher is being pretty understanding, though, and probably won't drop my grade for it.
Oh, and...
Also, the bus was actually running on time today! At least until we were half an hour away from school and some guy on the bus had a seizure. Yeah. We had to pull over to wait for him to finish convulsing, and then we had to wait for the paramedics. Then we found out that he didn't speak English. One of the EMTs spoke a little Spanish, though not very well. Luckily, there was someone sitting near him that seemed to be a native speaker, and he translated for them. They finally managed to talk him off the bus and we got into town only a little later than we were supposed to. I'm just glad that he was several seats in front of me.
So that was my eventful week! Yaaaaay! [/sarcasm] But it's okay now, pretty much. Mostly.
