So the weekend wasn't so bad, it was actually really good.
On Saturday I cleaned the house like crazy, and it looks and smells so good, I love it, I should probably take a few pictures so I can remember what it looks like a week from now. That night was supposed to be my Orientation Leader party, but even with 2 weeks notice people had all their lame excuses and stuff and the only one who came over was Cristina. I called Amanda and she came over, so we just talked all night, it was still fun.
Sunday I kind of sat around for a while, and then went to visit Amanda at work. I got some apples and corn on the cob. When I got to Amanda's line this lady was in front of me, and we were all just kind of talking (people are really really friendly in the south) and all of a sudden the lady says "you can just add her stuff on to my bill." And I was like what? And Amanda was like really? And we were just so like blown away that a stranger would want to buy my groceries. She just said she wanted to do something nice and also mentioned that God blessed us and she believed she should bless other people. I mean, I only had $5 worth of stuff, but it was still so nice. I think I need to start shopping there more often, and by small amounts and maybe it will happen again. haha. I went grocery shopping, and splurged on a few things lol. Then I waited for Amanda to come over and we had dinner together. I made chicken, corn on the cob, and breadsticks. And Amanda brought over this really yummy cheesecake. Then we watched Crash, cuz she hadn't seen it. And we talked for a long time, I never realized how much we have in common.
Monday went to school, I got a 95% on my government test! My friend Dom was mad, because he was copying off of me, but I got done before him, so he didn't have a chance to see all of my answers. It was so funny. It was nicer than what I had expected yesterday, so I went over Amanda's and we decided to go to downtown Marietta. We went to all the stores (that were open) and just looked at all the overpriced junk! One store was really cute though, they were like a little trendy boutique, and we decided we would have to save up before shopping there. Their slogan was "Set the trends, before your friends." The rest of the stores were just like these antique/weird gift stores. And the people kept pressuring us to buy things like one lady asked "Did you find anything you can't live without?" and another asked "Did you find your treasure yet?" Its like listen people, even if I had the money to spend on this junk, I still wouldn't want it. Then we were getting hungry so we decided to find some place to eat. Well it seemed a lot of places were closed, but we finally found this mexican restaurant. We walk in and the lady says "Habla spani?" I said no, because I dont' feel like I can completely rely on my small knowledge of spanish. She went in the back to find someone who spoke English, but no one did I guess. So she gave us menu's and then I saw a sign that said "cash or check only", and we didn't have enough cash. So we get up to leave and I said "No tengo dinero, lo siento." Haha, I swear, I'm getting more Mexican down here every day, who needs study abroad! So then we went to the Marietta Pizza Company, which is really good stuff. We were just sitting there waiting, and it was kind of a long wait, and the waitress finally comes over to tell us that they had brought our food to another table, and that they were only going to charge us half price for our meals. So our $20 meal became a $10 meal, which was pretty awesome. Amanda and I decided that together we have really good karma and luck, so we should go places together more often. Like we figured if we went to the mall we could win like a shopping spree or something. Haha. But it was a fun day. We just hung out after that, looking for other things to do in the future.
So today, I went to class at 11. And now I have a 6 page book review to write, on a book I didn't read. It's due at 6pm. Haha, woops.
Matt comes home tomorrow, and I can't wait, I'm really getting sick of being alone in this huge house.
That's all for now.
