2003

01 Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more?

No, I didn't, and yes, as always, I will make new resolutions. I'm still working on that, though.

02 Did anyone close to you give birth?

I don't think so. So, I guess, no one close enough to remember did.

03 Did anyone close to you die?

No one close to me died, but I've heard about a lot of deaths this year.

04 What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003?

Something stable, that I can count on, and will give me hugs. I'm not saying I want a relationship, per se, but hugs would be nice.

05 What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

Oh, boy. There were some pretty big occurrances. (In no particular order) Graduation. Crazy-ness. College. Camping. 3 piercings and 4 tattoos.

06 What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Graduating STA fairly intact, getting a scholarship to Brandeis, and doing well my first semester were all pretty pride-inducing. (USem A, Modern Poetry A-, Spanish A-, Psychology A- ^_^)

07 What was your biggest failure?

I don't really think in terms of failure. I like to think that I've learned from my mistakes.

08 Did you suffer illness or injury?

I got sick a few times, thanks to the Shapiro dorm, but nothing serious.

09 What was the best thing you bought?

Oooh, it might have to be my laptop, I love it so.

10 Where did most of your money go?

My body modifications took a significant amount of my income, as did clothes and my laptop.

11 What did you get really, really, really excited about?

Graduation and all that it entails, my 18th birthday and the parties involved, coming home for Christmas break...

12 What song will always remind you of 2003?

The Pretenders "I'll Stand by You"
Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes "Time of My Life"
Something Corporate "Konstantine"
Saves the Day "This Is Not an Exit"
Tori Amos "Gold Dust"
I'm sure there are more, but I can't think of them now.

13 Compared to this time last year, are you:
happier or sadder? That's hard to say..
thinner or fatter? Fatter. Dorm food and Santa Maria, ay ay ay.
richer or poorer? Poorer, but I've spent more money than ever before so I was previously richer.

14 What do you wish you'd done more of?

Hanging out with certain people who I've now grown apart from.

15 What do you wish you'd done less of?

Crying... but not really, because some things have made me stronger. I'm really not one to regret.

16 How will you be spending Christmas?

See previous journal entries.

17 Did you fall in love in 2003?

That's a complicated question. Simple answer: yes. More complicated answer: No.

18 How many one-night stands?

None, in the traditional sense of the phrase.

19 What was your favorite TV program?

Family Guy

20 Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?

I don't really hate people. It's not worth my time.

21 What was the best book you read?

That's too long of a list. AP English did well by me! ^_^

22 What was your greatest musical discovery?

The Dresden Dolls.

23 What did you want and not get?

A relationship that worked.

24 What did you not want and get?

The continuing rollercoaster known as my feelings.

25 What was your favorite film of this year?

Ah, that would be tough. Sean is right, Kill Bill was rad. So were the new LOTR and Pirates of the Caribbean.

26 What did you do on your birthday?

Good question. I know that Megan (1/19) and I (1/18)had a few parties, some with illegal substances and others without. I think a trip to Boston was in there, as well as a trip to the Portsmouth Piercing Parlor.

27 How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2003?

Mine.

28 What kept you sane?

Friends, music, the usual things.

29 Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

I "fancied" John Cusack, Johnny Depp, Cillian Murphy, and probably a few others. I'm spacing out right now.

30 Who did you miss?

My pre-college friends.

31 What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

A Chevelle SS or an Aston Martin would have been nice. I could have handled a relationship longer than 2 months, too.

32 Who was the best new person you met?

That I couldn't say. I've met too many new people.

33 Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2003:

Don't start taking long surveys when your attention span is already waning. Heh.

34 Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:

Any of the lyrics from #12, especially...

Sights and Sounds pull me back down another year I was here I was here Whipping past the reflecting pool me and you skipping school And we make it up as we go along We make it up as we go along You said - You raced from Langley - pulling me underneath a Cherry Blossom canopy -Do I Have- Of course I have, Beneath my raincoat, I have your photographs. And the sun on your Face I'm freezing that frame And somewhere Alfie cries and says "Enjoy his every smile You can see in the dark Through the eyes of Laura Mars" How did it go so fast you'll say as we are looking back and then we'll understand we held gold dust in our hands...

On a somewhat related note, PARTY AT MEGAN'S HOUSE TONIGHT... Let me know if you want to show up!
