I caught a mouse. Hopefully it was the only one but I'm not taking the traps down just yet. Glue traps are much more efficient than the spring kind. You do have to kill them afterwords but this is why I have a car. Hopefully I will stop feeling bad about this and remember that the little bastard destroyed one of my favorite shirts.
In equally exciting but less depressing news I now have a television. My dad bought it for me for Christmas but gave it to me early. This worked much better than actually waiting because I was able to watch Rudolph last night. I really hate that Christmas is a season instead of say a day of the week but I make exceptions for cartoons. Hopefully I can get my mom to tape Frosty for me since there is no way I'll be able to convince her to part with my VCR until the 25th and I have to work when it will be on.
My mom is truly wonderful. (Aside from that no gifts until Christmas thing of course.) Not only did she stay to work for me today but she kept coming to check on me. Tomorrow she's letting me come in early so I can make up the time I missed.
My period knocked me on my ass today, which is why I missed an hour of work. I had a teeny little cramp when I left the house, it was a little bigger when I got to work so I decided to take some Excedrin so things wouldn't get out of hand and suddenly I'm too dizzy to stand. I know I should have eaten before taking the pills but I took two, not a handful. And it really shouldn't have made the cramps worse or caused the dizziness or the nausea or the overheating. I'm definitely sticking to Motrin.
And I'm also making an appointment with Planned Parenthood because I really can't ignore this anymore. I should have done this
months ago; instead I put off my annual exam because I'm not sure I want to know. This is one of the times that not having health insurance is scary. And what if they want to put me on hormonal birth control? Aside from times like today my menstrual cycle is, well, fabulous and I really don't want to fuck with that. But this has to be checked out. And isn't this why I save money? So I'll call tomorrow afternoon.
