Okay, so I just got a message from that New York fringe festival I was talking about a while ago: Apparently a spot has just opened up. That would mean that in Feb I would get back from Texas on the 23rd, do the Kibo (Human Rights Fundraiser) concert on the 24th, then have 2 weeks of rehearsal before running off for the festival from the 7th-18th. Here are the pros and cons:
PROS:
- I get to do a festival in New York!
- I'll have a show to do between now and the Fringe.
- It'll give me a chance to rework Jesus Christ, I'm Sorry
- It will be a chance to network with various artists and good exposure
- If I get good reviews, I can use them in the future for Grants
- It'll be wicked ass fun, because it's New York!
CONS:
- It will cost a lot of money- In fact, I don't know if it's possible for me to gain money on the whole.
- It will mean I'll be crazy busy between now and then, working on it pretty much full time if I want to hold to any of my other projects.
- It will take a lot of time to rework the script, and I would not be happy going with what I currently have.
- I'm not sure if any of that networking would be of any use, especially when I can do much of the same at the Winnipeg Fringe.
- I might not get good reviews. Traveling down to do a shitty show would suck.
- It's in March, so it will be cold and maybe not as fun as my last trip.
- I also need to get the time off work: Which may be problematic, although I can't really say at this point.
So, friends, what do you think? Should I do it?
