Should I even watch?
I am a bit obsessed with America's Got Talent these days, and not in a good way.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching Britain's Got Talent because it seemed that the judges were actually judging. I also noticed that dance acts won on there the past two years, whereas the U.S. is still so obsessed with singing acts. Don't get me wrong - I voted for Barbara Padilla, but that was about it. I voted heavily for the Fab 5 and Recycled Percussion, as I could see them sustaining a 90-minute show in Vegas, although I would definitely go see Barbara no matter where she performs.
What is really ticking me off about the show is Kevin Skinner. He cannot sing well enough to even have gotten through to the Final, but if he gets the "$1,000,000" ($25,000 a year, according to the fine print. Perfect in a recession! /sarcasm) I am not watching this show on TV again. It's pathetic.
Anyway, I will be there with bells on tomorrow. I sincerely hope that people have the common sense to vote for someone with a show that will be successful in Vegas. I cheered on Terry Fator two years ago, and I would love to see a live show of him someday.
