Lots has been going on lately.
Doolby moved in last weekend which meant 1) we had to clean out the spare bedroom, 2) we had to clean our room so that the extra dresser from the spare room could fit in ours and 3) we had to make room in the office for a 3rd desk. All where big tasks but worth it. Hopefully we can get the other half of the office done soon. The kitchen is the next big task. We have stuff in the cupboards from when we moved in O.o (that was a bit over 3 years ago).
Yesterday was Andrew and my 10 year anniversary of our
first date. Yes it really has been that long.
I’ve been super busy at work preparing for our Annual Meeting next Wednesday. They still do somethings at the meeting that I’m not really pleased about. The main thing is saying the pledge of allegiance before the meeting. You just don’t really do that anymore. Besides I figure I pledged my allegiance enough back in elementary school and my allegiance hasn’t changed. One thing I am really glad they got rid of before I started was saying prayer before the meeting. Not everyone at the meeting is Christian and I don’t think a company should be involved in religion unless that is their business.
Today I interviewed for and was accepted for the
Emergency Operations Support team at the Department of Emergency Management. This is a volunteer position but at least it gets my foot in the door and some really valuable training and experience. Basically I help with anything that needs doing to make sure the Emergency Operation Center runs smoothly during a disaster. Mostly its admin work but I’m weird and think that stuff is fun!
Lastly - We have to replace our shower. It leaks, bad, right in front of the dryer in the basement (thankfully not on top of it). This means we get to replace the ugly off white with gold sparkles tile with something much more modern. And since my mom and I do the tile business still we are working on a nifty design. The current concept is a band of trees of various colors that goes all the way around the tub. I’ll post pictures of the whole process as it goes along.
I’ll stop rambling now.
