Obligatory GoF review

Nov 28, 2005 00:36

Alrighty kids, since my boyfriend made me wait to watch GoF, I FINALLY got to see it this past weekend, and YES, I saw it TWICE.

Overall, I'd say that the movie was the best so far. It's very obvious the kids are growing up, and the humor in this movie was on the spot. I think the jokes in general show that they're teenagers.

Things I liked:

Draco: puddle of drool in the movie theater. omg, the boy GREW. Nice broad, sexy shoulders....

Cedric: more drool

Loved the studying thing in the Great Hall, with Snape slapping the boys.

Ron: Seriously one of the most hilarious characters, other than the twins of course.

Voldie: Scared the shite out of me in his shriveled, wrinkly form. And the way he was DUMPED into the cauldron. I think Ralph Fiennes did a wonderful job though. I liked how they made him so snake-like.

Hermione: I think she's hot.

Lucius is so...SEXY. And his cane...

Also, totally cried at the end when Harry brings back Cedric's body.

Questionable:

Barty Crouch Sr. Um, I did NOT get the scene between Moody and Barty Crouch Sr. until I watched it a second time, and Moody is doing the tongue thing that Barty Crouch Jr. does. Also, dead body? They SOO need to explain that more.

Also, they kind of left the teenage angst between Hermione and Ron up in the air. They argue, she's crying on the stairs, and then everything's back to normal.

SOO not enough of Draco and Lucius.

Dumbledore: Didn't like too much. He was too...aggressive. I see Dumbledore as a man who is intimidating because he's quiet, and all-knowing and such. This Dumbledore was all screamy and threatening.

Harry: Mmm...love the kid, but seriously, Dan's acting makes me wince sometimes - don't hurt me please!

Cho: Eh. Whatever. Accent threw me off.

Despite all this, I still loved the movie to bits. And I'm still drool thinking about Tom in the suit in that first scene. Him and Lucius make such a sexy pair.
