it occurred to me that some of you may not have heard of Randy Pausch. He's pretty famous, but I guess not a household name yet He's a damn legend at carnegie mellon.
he was a computer science professor who was diagnosed with fatal cancer with only a few months to live and he gave a speech at campus last december called the last lecture.
everyone should hear the things he has to say, i think. well the video of his speech became hugely famous and now he's been interviewed by diane sawyer etc etc and is very famous now.

my favorite thing he says is talking to diane sawyer about whether a movie would be made of his life. he said "can't be done. there's no hollywood actress beautiful enough to play my wife"
