I listen to and study music so much that sometimes I forget what it really sounds like.
Today I have a free afternoon and I'm spending it lying in bed with a glass of sweet tea and listening to music and trying to really hear it.
playlist includes:
Overture to Candide (generally KICK ASS)
Candide's Lament from Candide (most beautiful piece of music EVER written. at least today i think so.)
Make Our Garden Grow from Candide (i will sob every time i hear this. ever. EVER.)
Sunday from Sunday in the Park with George ("order.. design.. tension.. composition.. balance.. light.. harmony." I truly think this piece is ingenius.)
Epiphany from Sweeney Todd (creepy and spectacular)
Clair de Lune by Debussy (classic. beautiful.)
Being Alive from Company (motto for life.)
Dorme?...Riposa from La Boheme (finale. incredible. most gut wrenching opera written)
No More and the Finale from Into the Woods (favorite of all time)
I Have Dreamt from Wuthering Heights (haunting. completely.)
Edward Scissorhands Finale
if you havent heard even one of these pieces of music, I recommend them highly. These are just a few of my favorites but, I'm not lying, they ..... move me, beyond what I am accustomed to with beautiful sounds. They inspire me.
I'm seriously suggesting these for your own pleasure. You won't regret it.
