I did it. I bought a Macbook Pro via Macmall.com.
There were so many things going through my mind! At first I planned to buy an older refurbished Macbook through Apple, but I checked out Macmall and saw they offered new models at discounted prices. Now, I found a Macbook that looked great but then saw a Macbook Pro that was just as good, but with a 15" screen [as opposed to a 13" one]. At this point I'm leaning towards the 15", but was very apprehensive about its glossy screen. I read about all the pros and cons about having one and really WHO CARES? Will I be working outdoors? No. It takes a tiny push of adjustment to get rid of glare so it really isn't a big deal.
So I bought the Macbook Pro in all its Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz, 15" TFT, 2GB DDR2, 200GB SATA, Nvidia GeForce 8600 256MB, 8X SuperDrive, Built-in 10/100/1000BASE-T, Airport Extreme, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR & iSight, OS X 10.5 Leopard - Glossy glory. And Ben said he'd buy a secondary monitor for my bday...woohoo!
I dropped a ton of cash, but it comes with a rebate, and I found a place that will buy my iBook G4. I'm starting to feel all sentimental now. But it's time to move on to shinier, faster, upgraded things!
