Goodbye to Mom
Sonya Sirotick K_ passed away early this morning at 1:04am. She had been in poor health for some time, but recently experienced some difficulties requiring hospitalization. From day to day the prognosis varied wildly, and family came to see her, Oohay among them. Over a span of a few days, her condition worsened until hospice was the only answer. Her health spiraled downward even more, culminating in her passing.
Thanks to God there were moments to spend with her in relative peace, communicating (due to severe hearing loss) mostly by glance, touch and gesture. And thanks must be given for the grace of being there with her at the end. She was there when Oohay came into this world, so it is only right to be there for her upon her leaving it. And thanks to brother Alban, for his caring for her needs these past few years.
More on this, another day ... but for now, rest in heaven, Mom.
