Last I heard, they extended its contract for another few seasons, and there's been no CONCRETE plans of calling it quits, so I'm assuming it's going to continue until its cast will be old enough to all qualify for Abraham Simpson's role.

Or rival Dr. Who for longest running series in ANY genre EVER.
Of course, since Dr. Who's still running he's gotta hope it'll be cancelled after the upcoming thirty-first season (aka season 5 of the newer episodes) to even stand a chance.

final episode, whenever it is, will not be able to live up to expectations. It will be impossible.
