People should be better informed about their worlds an' histories. I bet if everyone sat down an' read about their history, they'd notice a ton of patterns. Analyze 'em an' make a "not to do" list, that'd probably clear up a ton'a problems in any place, regardless of background ( Read more... )

blah blah history blah blah, affected? you decide, curse day, mister city

I think most people just keep going, thinking they can't make those same repeats of their past, when clearly is not the truth. We don't want to believe we exist in endless patterns, so we pretend is not the case.

Then isn't it important 'ta realize that mistake and overcome it?

An individual may see this, but to ask all of humanity to so? We cannot agree on anything. That is something we all know to be truth.

I wish badly it is that simple, but I cannot agree with one person I meet on the street, is it okay to dress this way, is this color suitable, is the way I speak understandable? Then we talk of people representing whole nations of people with a different outlook... it seem like too much to expect that they ever agree. We only stop wars because everyone get exhausted.

I think in the end, suffering is our theme, and each life is a variation. That is okay. It is still beautiful music.

Nah, but maybe someone open-minded enough that'll at least listen 'ta what people say would be good. It'd be a start anyways.

That's depressing! I'd like 'ta think anyone can make their life better if they really want to.

I learn so much about new ideals and morals in coming to America, and now to this City. Things that are ordinary in Borginia are not here. In some ways, this is very good! I have no fear of being killed for breaking a law. But in other ways, is very strange for me! People my age have much more expectation to work, in a few years we will be settling down with our families. I run around, I meet people, and they are like, what do you mean you have been working 12 hour days since you are 11? Sit down and have a cookie and go to school.

I don't like cookies.

You are the consummate optimist. I think life can be better with you outlook, but you can't change the fact each person is essentially alone. Everyone will fall away, you can only rely on youself, and someday even you body go away. The idea is to make peace with that. Life is beautiful whether is suffering or happiness, it is about where you heart is that makes observing it difficult or easy.

People get killed in your country for breaking a law? That's pretty harsh. But I can see where it's weird for a kid 'ta be workin' so much so young.

You don't?

Nah, I wouldn't say I'm an optimist. I jus' like 'ta keep life interesting for myself. I'd rather die young an' know I've made th' most of life for myself than 'ta live until I'm old an' realize I never lived. If that makes sense. People can be alone, but you can still enjoy th' company of those around you, right?

I am lucky. I had piano, no had to work in factory or on farm or in rich person house. Just play a lot of music. Play and play and play.

No. People always send me sweets, because I am so cute looking, I guess. But I am not fond of them at all. Maybe a little dark chocolate, but I don't like sugary things.

I do enjoy others. Sometimes I am afraid I am not connecting like I could, though, like there is some secret world I am not part of. I have trouble smiling with everyone.
